Unfortunatly since republicans can't even accept evolution there is no way they will accept this.

If there is one thing I have learnt, It's that you could give a large percentage of Americans cold hard facts about any topic and they wouldn't even consider those facts as the truth unless their government confirms those facts to be true.

But for real, that's an interesting piece of data.

Similar figures can be found in Europe. But the Christian right will not accept it, they will tell you the opposite it true and the figures are manipulated to make the porn industry look good.

Might want to read "Freakonomics." The highly respected statistician author offers an alternative explanation, based solidly on statistics, as to why crime rates in this country have dipped so dramatically.

Not to say porn isn't responsible for helping reduce rape, just that books such as that one go to show how difficult it is to show *any* causal connection between any two phenomena.

but i have to say... proving a statistical correlation between two events does not automatically mean they are both related. the book is mostly entertainment... unless you really can believe that its a fact that legal abortion reduced gang violence in the 80s-90s etc.
