Early adopters' first computers

I just read a post about modem lights, and then thought that I'm curious when you people started using computers and the internet? I got an Amiga 500 when they first came out in 1987 I believe, got my first pirate games from my dad's work (he's a cop).

Got an IBM XT a girlfriend's dad was throwing out when I was 12, that's when I really got interested.. bought a used 2400 baud modem out of the local classifieds and started to use BBS's.. Got the password file to a local ISP to get dialup access in 1994.. Used the internet initially just to telnet into BBS's hehe.. bit backwards I guess. ;)

I made the mistake of buying my oldest son a Vic-20 in 1981. Got me interested in programming. Went to C-64, C-128, Amiga 500, then a second hand PC 133 Megahertz . Used it for years. I am now using a Pentium III 1000 Megahertz.

Actually it wasn't a mistake. My son works at a College and is their computer whizz kid.
