Where Should I Put My Second Server?

Well, now that I read about that Google is ignoring sites that link to eachother on the same C block (which means that all of my efforts to increase my page rank have amounted to me jerking myself off), I need to put another server online.

So the question is, should I get another server in the United States or should I put an offshore box up. My current box is in Kansas City and I have looked at putting something on one of the coasts and I have also looked at the Netherlands, which seems to have some pretty decent deals on colo.

Where is the best place to put a box these days? Hosts, dont spam me here, I am talking about which country and which city or general area, not which data center.

I'll find the datacenter later, in another thread. :)

Go talk to milan from oc3networks for hosting!

haha I did what every other rep does...read the title and then post a spam without actually reading the thread to see he wasn't looking for a specific host yet just ideas on various hosting details

minusonebit: don't worry about location/country/state/... if you are only looking for a new box for seo reasons.

I have got servers starting at only 69.00 a month with 1000Gs of Tier 1 Transfer month, with data centers in Dallas, TX. Tampa FL. and Scranton PA.

let me know if we can help you at all.

If I'm going to spend money on it, I may as well put it to use and THAT means not putting a piece of shit online.

That depends, are you going to sue them if they don't accept your credit card?

For obvious law-related reasons it may be worth spreading the risk in other jurisdictions - poss Canada, Netherlands, Panama, Czech Republic.... It was never an obligation to host in the most unfriendly environment in the western world for adult biz.

Even tho they suck, I like to park some mainstream sites with Yahoo Small Business hosting. Their IP's do very well on Google

Lycanthrope 08-23-2006 06:42 AM

Not a lawyer, but I doubt it. Calling you a moron is his opinion perhaps. What were your actual damages. After all this is GFY, people get called names here.

pussyluver 08-23-2006 06:49 AM

I'd spread risk and go off shore. NL seems a safe place.. For one I don't think the US government would be able to just shut the site down quick. Nothatsfuckedup was up for weeks while litigation went on. In Kansas City it would be another story. Guess all that pails compared to sitting in jail though.

Baddog seems to have the edge on SEO efforts. So if that's your game, he's the place.

I am sorry, but do you think that Google is going to see "1000's of organic/relevant inbound links in no time" as anything close to natural?

Since you didnt ask for a retraction of the alleged libel, you'll only be able to sue for actual damages, which you'll have to actually prove. Make sure you know the law before you go and spout off.
