I know this biz is based upon contacts, just like any other biz... What's the best way to get the "big guys" to push your site?

Yea bring 500 000 $ on the table and you might find something . I don't think anybody would make business with somebody they don't know . Most of the big guys were helped by 1-2 people to start and slowly it makes the people turn arround them . The circle stay small... I don't think you will find any partnership with big guys.... Just my :2 cents:


Don't want to bash or anything ... just start by the start . I don't know you I don't know your ressource but if you start the only partenership with a big guy would be gallery reviewer

Exactly that. Contacts. Ask what you do for them, not the other way around. It helps to meet them. In person. You already are only a few links in a network away from anyone in this business.

Unlike the six degrees of separation of the entire world, there are more like two degress of separation in this business.

How will you act when you meet the "Big Boys"? You can't start right in with "Guess what I have!" Become friends first. We all have a lot in common. Offer something.

Everything changes when you meet people in person. It is imperative to go to conferences. Try Miami in August. See ya there.

You shouldn't think of webmasters in terms of big or small -- pretty much anyone you spend the time to get to know that seems invested in this biz -- they will help you down the road... If you are in search of traffic -- it's probably a very good idea to get to know the Boneprone Family... Everyone has their own approach to networking -- but I seem to think that if you are too intent on meeting the "big" players you are already doomed. Often times it's the most quiet reserved webmasters that are the most influential -- remember this is a biz build by nerds and geeks... anyone that is too smooth and too slick is full of shit -- just avoid them. You will quickly learn to recognize the real webmasters (usually down-to-earth regular fucking people) and to avoid the slime balls. Also look out for Dirty Sanchez -- he's one of the few slimy webmasters that really knows his stuff...

Make as much money as the big guys, people with money are only threatened by other people with money. And more times than not, if you simply do your thing and become successful the other guys will notice you anyhow, thats how respect from peers is earned.
