Volcano errupted! AAAH!
 

Remember i was afraid that i am living now surrounded by volcanos.
A volcano errupted about 100km. from me.

There is nothing happening here, but they keep saying that if Tunguragua erupts it wakes up others. There are about 6 volcanos around me :(

I am not going to leave the the place. I am going to go to the shop and buy
gas-mask and a torch. THey also recommend radio with battary, some accumulator and food - conservatives.

OMG, you live in the shadow of one of the largest volcanos in the world. And its active, dude leave. My family spent 25 years trying to leave that country, I suggest you do the same.

Radio and battery? I hope you mean shortwave or ham radio or something. I'm sure any local stations will go out pretty quick huh?

I'm just waiting for the Super Volcano that's under Yellowstone National Park to go off.. Might as well say good bye to half the world's population when that bad boy goes.

I was just in Legazpi, PI waiting for Mt Mayon to blow. Have some insane pics of lava and shit. Will post them later....

It is very difficult to make a pic of lava. Personally i saw the erruption on TV, but found no pics .

The main thing is battery because there will be now electricity and now light and a lot of ashes allaround.

Sounds like a dangerous place. I'd leave the fuck out of there.

The military closed it off 8km from the danger zone. I paid locals to take me so close I could feel the heat.

I will load pics when I sort them. I have just been back a few days.

I'm gonna guess that the question is; Why did they leave? Simple reason that there where more oportunites for our family in the United States and the economy was near collapse.

No. I said please, post those pics that you have. It would be interesting, because i didn't see any in net.

I shouldnt be so hard on Ecuador it is my Moms home country and it has some striking landscapes and a some beautiful ruins. Plus the Cotopaxi is breath taking. I would love to come and visit Quito again someday, but not while the volcano is erupting.

Good luck to you too. Come and see Quito when it will be alright. The city is changing every year - becomes more restaurated, cleaner. Very beautiful at night.

I was born in the US and we slowly moved my Moms family to the States over the years.
I am glad to hear its changing and hopefully everything will turn out well, I will always have a special place in my heart for Ecuador because of my Mom.

relocate.
the area seems to be quite dangerous.

I think it should be what it should be. I wouldn't relocate, because i do not know exactly if those volcanos near my place will wake up.
Tunguragua was smoking for 5 years. Nobody cared and even tourists from US and other countries came to see it.
