What hoster has the best control panel for your site?

I'm looking for a hoster that has an excellent control panel. The one I currently have is confusing, always gives me error messages and I always have to email the administrator for technical questions that should be answered in the panel itself. This right here is from a hoster that I enjoy very much, but I don't use them for porn. Anyhow spam with your best please!

this is some old shitty one..

i'd advise you to look for Ensim / Plesk panel

they're the industry leaders, so if the panel is what matters most to you - go with them and only with them ! :)

Black Seven uses plesk, its pretty easy to use.

There never will,be an alternative to the traditional shell (bash especially) :thumbsup

All those interfaces are for newbies. when your server is in real shit, no interface would help you.

Anybody with me ?

I'd recomend H-shpere, from psoft.net we're a reseller for it and would be happy to give a discount off the book price for any adult customers

To be honest, I'm not much of a fan of Plesk. However I get the feeling its the standard for a lot of hosters. :( Anyhow I will still check out Blackseven.

In the end they all do pretty much the same thing or close too it, its all about preference and if you dont like plesk just dont use it go with cpanel or ensim etc, there are a bunch outthere which will do the same job

I agree, but most hosts have panels for the customers and resellers, not the admins. It cuts down on support time if they set up there emails ect.., themselves. But out of all the control panels out there I like Cpanel the best out of all of em...

Going to have to agree with you Dreamman010.

As a network administrator, I know how important shell is...and just like you said, panels are for true newbies....If one does not know how to manage his/her server via shell, then they got a serious problem and I recommend virtual for them.

Gemini 06-17-2002 10:08 PM

Plesk has some bugs if you aren't careful. And it doesn't always 'see' changes you make thru shell either. We ran in to that just a few weeks ago and our tech was pulling his hair out trying to get it all sorted to work right. :1orglaugh

Ensim looks abit confusing with all those icons as far as I am concerned. And the test one I looked thru seemed to be missing some things that would be needed on some sites.

Gemini 06-17-2002 10:10 PM

We're with you Dreamman... all redhat - Apache, all the way and NO GUI's!! We switched to a different box quick!

:ak47: Interfaces!

Keev 06-17-2002 11:08 PM

I like plesk when the permissions are open so i can control all aspects of my account

Exactly, hosting companies set up control panels so their virtual customers can do the small stuff themselves. Some hosts don't even give out SSH access. Most virtual customers don't know how to use it and prefer the control panel.. its just easier and faster, and they have better things to do than learn how to use unix. Thats why they pay us.
