NJ real estate prices are fucking insane

330k+ for a single family cape cod.. 1000 square feet, tiny backyard. no garage.

i seriously need to relocate. atlanta, dallas, and tampa all seem to have reasonable prices. . whats the market like where you live?

pr0 08-21-2006 12:43 AM

Stay far....far away from atlanta. Unless you never plan on going outside the city limits. Same thing with texas....too many redneck freaks.

I'd go with north carolina/south carolina (near myrtle) if you're looking to go south.

WWC 08-21-2006 12:44 AM

you should see California ;-)

MrMaxwell 08-21-2006 12:52 AM

You just need to stay away for awhile.
Prices will make sense again some day and some day soon.

Texas is good.
The women there are not all scandalous, they have their own money, they drive trucks and even Cadillacs and they can naturally do things to you that most women couldn't even be taught.

I agree the NY metro area real estate prices are insane, although rates have stopped the appreciation a little...

They still are very high in coparison to the rest of the country except LA, San Fran & Boston!

That price MIGHT get you a 1 bedroom apartment downtown. You would have to drive for almost 2hours outside the city limits at least before its going to buy you a house and even then, its a house in a trailer park. Shit here is beyond expensive. My gramma's 70 year one bedroom run down house is on the market now for 839k.

SinisterStudios 08-21-2006 03:10 AM

All for the privelage of living in New Joisey, you should see the taxes that go with that heafty purchase price. I still wonder why i say here

tical 08-21-2006 04:01 AM

west coast time

Big Red Machine 08-21-2006 12:10 PM

Just wait they'll be plenty of foreclosures in a year or two. Once those ARMs pop up

FreeHugeMovies 08-21-2006 12:10 PM

I wouldn't buy a house in those markets. Give it some time.

Quick Buck 08-21-2006 12:28 PM

that sounds like a pretty good deal really. apartments in nyc 1000 sq feet will cost you 1.5 - 2mil.

Cyndalie 08-21-2006 12:28 PM

Sounds like Sofla

Sosa 08-21-2006 12:34 PM

were just finishing up a 3300 sq ft house (finished basement included), 4 bedroom house for around 200k :)

revert13 08-21-2006 12:45 PM

I am from Jersey as well. The prices are ridiculous. The profit I made on my townhouse alone in a two year period is ridiculous.

California baby! Born and raised and have no reason to leave.

deniska 08-21-2006 12:50 PM

Wait a minute thats only $300/sq ft thats not bad at all.. you can always try manhattan at $1,500 - $2,000/sq ft :)
