Take your Trillian anywhere. :handy tip

If you use Trillian, I have a tip for you, where you can take your Trillian contact list and message archive anywhere with you, move it from computer to computer without the need to reinstall it everytime.

What you need:
1x Copy of Trillian v2.0.13
1x Mini Drive (ThumbDrive, I recommend the WD 6GB from Staples for $99)

Install Trillian onto your PC, and set it up with a password for login (Help protect your contacts)

Once it's installed, simply Copy the C:\Program Files\Trillian folder onto your Mini Drive.

Now, whenever you plugin your Mini Drive to any other PC, you have your Trillian program / contacts / message history ready to go.

I also recommend picking up:
newsoftwares.net/folderlock/

Folder Lock will enable your drive for password protection, encryption etc... Works well on mine.

Anyhow, if you're not already doing this, it's definitely worth it.

Regards,
DB

Nice tip - Should definitely do something like then for when I travel or go to shows and not on my desktop. I'm a history and contact list freak and need it updated and backed up or I feel like there's no blood pumping through my veins LMAO

For us stylish Mac users, Adium (http://www.adiumx.com/) is just like Trillian (...except better :) ). It syncs with .Mac or Webdav servers in order to keep contact list information. Also binds with Address Book, like most MacOS X apps, so you could theoretically just sync that.

Just thought I'd post for informational/reference purposes.
