Don't Speak Out Against the US Gov't
Q: Who has been the most critical of the Gov't? Well maybe not the most critical, but the most critical with the ability to speak out to the masses about it?
A: Hollywood What does the Gov't do? Smacks them in the face telling them that they now have to pay taxes on their free swag bags. This year's Emmy swag bags estimated at being worth $2 million. Taxes on that = about $800,000 Ooops. |
Ouch, sucks for them. IRS is probably making an example of them to remind the rest of us to pay our dues.

1) taxable gifts are taxable gifts
2) you're not quite all there 3) Bush has nothing to do with either |
Yea that's pretty bad... you pay taxes on tons of stuff you don't need ;)

And gift tax applies to the person giving the gifts, not the person getting them... They're being tax on it being considered as income. |

Why shouldn't they have to pay taxes? It's income, in the form of gifts. Fuck 'em. |

I hope so, you used the word. it seems however that have no clue as to which political party controls the "government" and which individual sits at the top of "government" right now. i'll clue you in on those 2 answers without being cryptic and "read between the lines" sarcasm: a.) Republicans b.) Bush now... for language you can understand... | the | sarcasm | in | my | post | was | obvious | to | even | the | slowest, | retarded | of | embiciles | |

Good post, however, you should consider your own words, because, I guess the fucking lines between the words wasn't obvious enough sarcasm for you. |

What I don't get is how some how the tax on the value of gifts you receive has anything to do with who is in office now. That's been around for quite some time, long before Bush. Just no one really pays attention to it except when you're talking about the lottery.
If someone gives you a car, legally you are responsible for paying taxes on the value of that car. They just finally called the actors/actresses out on it. Oh, and please don't read into this that I'm in anyway defending or like Bush. I'm just saying he nor the people in office created that "rule". |
