How do you disable the seatbelt alarm in a car?

In normal cars it turns off quick, mine wont turn the fuck off.

Its annoying as hell. Any idea how to turn it off?

Im talking about the alarm when you dont put the seat belt on. I put it on when i go on highways and shit but not like local streets, there is no need.

Your car has seat belts?

fuzebox 08-19-2006 06:54 PM

Generally the connector to the buzzer is a simple plug... Just feel around under the dash while it's on until you can find it (or stick your head in there... on my car I could actually feel the speaker buzzing so it was easy to find).

Expo_Vids 08-19-2006 06:55 PM

There might be dedicated fuse to that alarm. Check the manual.

jacked 08-19-2006 07:07 PM

Cut the green wire

ttuurrbboo 08-19-2006 07:09 PM

Why not to get some old seatbelt, cut it so that you only need the end of the belt - stick the end where it fits and youre fine (fine for the alarm, not for your head)

Its his choice not to wear a seatbelt, and he has every right to make the choice .

What year, make and model is the vechile? Send me an e-mail with your car info (including engine) and I'll see what I have. I have piles and piles of information on this subject, but its very disorganized.

Some new vechiles have seatbelt dingers that are intended to annoy you into complaince, that is, they intentionally are set to never turn off and they very often extremely hard to disable by design. Not as simple as cutting a wire or unplugging the buzzer anymore. Thats one of the many genious ideas that has been thought up at taxpayer expense by the morons at the NHSTA.

For a reason :2 cents:

Why throw away your life just for being stupid enough to not wear your seatbelt?

crockett 08-19-2006 08:12 PM

How about put the seat belt on?

spunkmaster 08-19-2006 08:17 PM

In my Lincoln you push on the emergency brake then connect then disconnect the seat belt and wait until the alarm sounds. After it sounds you have to connect and disconnect the seat belt 10 times.

After the 10th time you wait one minute then connect and disconnect it again.

This shuts that fucking alarm off but you have to do it for each seat :)

The instructions are in the book BTW !

Doctor Dre 08-19-2006 08:18 PM

How about you go pay a mechanic to do it instead of asking the GFY doctors.

I don't remember the stats exactly (and you may want to look it up) but the majority of fatal traffic accidents occur less than 3 miles from home.

The alarm is just fucking annoying if you are warming your car up in the morning, or installing a stereo etc.
