Just back from seeing Celtic Frost

Who were very good. A friend of mine used to play in one of the support bands (Gorerotted) so we went to see both bands. Apart from Celtic Frost being very good I do have to say that most of the people there look like they stepped out of crowd scenes in Wayne's World. Yet, that is part of the charm.

Whoah there is a name that takes me back

evildick 08-19-2006 07:35 PM

Dam, they're still around? Still the original members?

nikki99 08-19-2006 08:03 PM

wow so fucking old! but good :)

I saw STRYPER the past week... excellent :)

Is Tom Warrior still short? Did he have his amp right next to him turned up so loud that you get nothing but feedback if he stops playing?

He is a goof. Saw them like, what, 20 years ago? Partied hard after show with them and a bunch of people, it was a really really small show (for anyone from Montreal old enough to remember, they played on a Sunday night at the Moustache... across from the old forum. I miss that dump.

I still remember when they tried to turn to glam metal and it basically killed their career. I remember seeing this video on MuchMusic Power Hour, shaking my head in disbelief, wondering what happened to them.

Compare that with their old sound:

I have tickets to see them here in LA in October. I can't wait "Morbid Tales" and "To Mega Therion" are two the the most heavy albums ever.

Their new stuff doesn't feel as heavy but it still sounded good to me. The venue they played, The Mean Fiddler, is a seriously small venue so it is perfect for that stuff because your whole body shakes when the bands play.

The show in LA pre-sold 6 months in advance.

We have had our tickets for a few months and it was certainly sold out (though that isn't that hard in that venue). They are doing the Euro festival circuit. They played Wacken only a week ago or so and most of the crowd last night had been to Wacken so it was like a reunion with the band.

I've been a huge fan since I was 13 or 14...I'm just glad in finally get a chance to see them. Hopefully they will stick to the classics.

At Wacken they apparently played mostly new stuff but at our show it was mostly the old stuff. So, hopefully you will get our playlist.
