what should i look for?

is this advanced enough to run 20 firefox windows, photoshop, flash fxp, firewall, antivirus, msn messenger, icq and some other misc programs

I have a Pentium D 930 3ghz with 2gig ddr2 dual channel ram and it will do everything you want it to. Of course, I built my own computer so I always know exactly what goed in it.

the CPU you want will take half or more of your budget

how much woudl you charge to build one of those and ship to the US ? (76542 zip to be exact) i got money waiting

then you'd have to get a new motherboard that support LGA775 CPUs, new ram, maybe a new video card since many new boards have PCI-e for video so if you have an AGP video card it would be uselss,

you wont get a full system for 1000$

I built a Sempron 3100+ with 2 GB dual channel Ram and it rips it up.. fuckin cheap too.. maybe 400 bucks for all the parts

so you have the motherboard to support the new cpu? you can get a nice case for anywhere between $80 to $250

If you are not familiar with boxes madawgz - get a someone competitent to build one for you from generic parts and stuff whatever you may need into it - only takes 30 mins to do that part. Then it's the OS, which you can prob do yourself.

and do you have a power supply with a 12v plug on it to plug onto the motherboard? That 12v is needed to power the CPU. (a P4 anyway)

I don't know how a computer with a P4 is considered "new". Considering the have the Pentitium Ds out for awhile and the Core 2 Duos just came out. No room for a CPU upgrade later.
