How long should batteries last in a wireless mouse?
I think I may have a defective mouse as rechargeables last a day with heavy use.
So to test the difference I buy a 4pk of Energizer Lithiums and only last a week. Is this about what you get? |
this is why i only use mice with a cable
|
8 years x 9 to the power of 80

Buy rechargables!

I thought it was normal for them to last a day 'til I was talking to a guy at CompUSA and he said he's had his for almost 4 mos. and does a lot of gaming, so he uses it a lot. The Kensington site says 4 to 6 wks for non-rechageables. Which is a lot considering the Lithiums were about $2 ea. |

yeah I had one too, keyboard as well. Ditched them both. First of all they couldn't work if an ant was in front of them let alone 10 feet away like I planned. Second I was spend a top end video card worth of batteries in 6 months... crap :2 cents: |

I really don't need wireless. It stays in my keyboard tray all the time. I wish I had known before I bought it. My only experience prior to this was a cheap one on a WIN machine that I use maybe once a week for a few min. I have never changed them in 2 yrs. |
I had a logitech mediaplay cordless mouse. Duracell alkalines lasted a month. NM-H lasted two months.
I've had a logitech mx7XX series one too once. Duracells lasted about 2 weeks, rechargable NMH about a month. From what i gather a month is avererage for the best batteries. |
stay clear of kensington. It's like radio shack brand quality.

The rechargeles weren't cheap but can reuse hundreds of times. Just have to change them everyday. I'm tired of it. |

All the others that I've had were fine. Got tons of use, no complaints. The wireless one was a mistake. |
I just got a simple MS wireless keyboard and mouse set .. nothing big ..it was like $80 .... the first one the mouse wouldn't scroll right ... it was real choppy. I brought it back and the new one was fine .. then within a day it said low battery and the scroll was fucked again. I'm hoping it's just the batteries it came with but now i have a feeling i made a mistake.
I just hate all the wires |
i will never buy a wirleless mouse again..they suck.
|
i bought a wireless mouse and threw it away after a few days. batteries didn't last for shit and the last thing that's going through my mind as i pass out from long hrs is "oh.. i need to turn my mouse off".
they suck. |
I recharge mine like once a month had this one for over two years
|
We run 6 computers, three are wireless HP, one lasts one week on new batteries the other two round 3 weeks.....all depends on the useage. The one that lasts one week is used 16 - 18 hrs per day...The other 3 are wired.
|
I have a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 and it uses 2 AA batteries that I replace.. crap, can't remember, but I get at least 6 months per change(rechargeable Energizers), I'm sure it's longer than that though. I don't use this computer quite as heavy as I could, but I'm pretty happy with this setup.
|
i bought rechargables and change when i need. and have no problems.
|
The first-gen wireless mice (especially the MS mice) were notorious at how fast they ate through batteries, we?re talking about a week or two and they were completely drained. I have a newer MS wireless mouse (I don?t really like wireless mice period) that lasts around two months with fairly constant use.
|
i have a microsoft one that takes one battery lasts about 3 -4 months , my logitech one takes 2 batteries lasts about 6months , and i have a few others , another logitech different model that is like yours it fucking eats batteries for lunch . lasts like 1-2 weeks
|
why do you need a wireless mouse? It's a gimic.

I was using wireless mouse/keyboard back in the days and it was crap. I had lag on my mouse, couldn't do any kind of basic photoshop work - the small lag was very annoying.
Now I just bought this microsoft bluetooth mouse and keyboard and it works really well. I'm quite please with it, the lag is very very minimal and I can do my work in photoshop np. I had it for 2 weeks now and my battery indicator is over 90% and I use it daily for 10 hours-ish. |

I have to load mine every 2nd day I think... but sometimes they last a whole week.

For that reason alone, it's pointless to ask people how long their batteries last unless you ask them what make, how many Mah and what mouse they have. Do yourself a favour and pick up some stronger batteries, you will experience that they will last a lot longer. |

I see 2000Mah which is obviously not as good as the 2500. What would it give me an extra day or 2? It would seem to me that the Energizer Lithiums have to be more powerful and last longer as there was only 1 pack of 4 on the shelf that were more pricewise and supposedly better than the Lithiums. I think I proved that as they only lasted a week which is not good enough to suit me. |
I have a logitech wireless optical and batteries last about a week. The mouse is being used 14 - 16 hours a day though.

a wireless mouse sucks balls i replaced mine with a mouse with cord a long time ago
