you guys need to understand there is a difference between "fake" and "scripted." those chairs and whatever the hell else they use are still hitting them in one way or another...most of the time that blood is real. they get over it and heal, but they do get fucked up...and hogan is an old dude now...

Well... Truth be told I could count on one hand the number of wrestling matches I've watched with Hogan in them.. It's not something I watch a lot of... he's just become one of those Iconic figures now.

hes also using the wrestling angle at the moment to push his daughters singing career.

lol her single with paul wall dropped awhile ago, and didn't catch on at all...i think her album drops in september so we'll see how it does...

wrestle one match, in which your contract guarrentees creative control and collect a pay check of a million dollars.

Huh? The guy is old. He doesn't party like a rockstar. He has retired multiple times but the owner of the WWE has always talked him into returning for a match or two. He has plenty of residual income not to mention a hit tv show. (Hogan Knows Best on vh1)

I've pondered this same question... not about Hogan but about Rick Flare. If Hogan is 60 then grampa FLare is pushing 70, if not older.

I'm sure they offer big money for him to do it or he would pass. plus the fact that I'm sure he loves the rush. on his show you can see him getting pumped with all types of drugs to keep the pain down. plus his son Nick is getting into it and I'm sure it helps both Nick and Brook for him to still be out there ..

If you watch his matches you'll see that they are quite tame in comparison..
He doesn't do anything too rough and his opponents take it easy on him..

They're just token appearances to entertain the old timers as was stated in another post..

Wrestling doesn't have any 'heroes' anymore.. so they have to bring back
the old ones now & then..

Maybe part of his publicity... to promote Hogan Knows Best at VH1.com. His opponents keeps on mentioning/badmouthing the said show on-air to trigger Hogan for a match

Hogan is in his early 50s and Flair is 57, I believe. Flair is fucking nuts. Although he's an icon, Hogan is a shitty wrestler and protects himself immensely in his matches. Flair, on the other hand, is a legend and an incredible wrestler. And at nearly 60, he's still jumping off ladders, taking back body drops and blading to bleed like a stuck pig.

Hogan comes back for two reason. First, he comes back to garner publicity for himself and his daughter. Second, he comes back because he has it in his contract that any PPV match he wrestles be the main event and that he gets paid at least a million dollars for it.

I remember watching on his tv show they pay him it was 100,000 or 150,000 to wrestle a match . It wasnt a million but thats still a shit load of money for a couple of hours of work.

That's for a regular TV match. For a PPV, he gets a million. He used to get a lot more back wrestling was incredibly popular in the mid-to-late 90s. But nowadays, it's at least 2-3 times as much as what the regular main eventers make for a PPV match.

He is still the most popular wrestler, so why quit? I could see saying he should quit if nobody cheered him anymore.
