Help with MySQL database please!!
How do I fix this? how do i find out if the database server is down and how can i bring it back up???
Error establishing a database connection This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down. Are you sure you have the correct username and password? Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname? Are you sure that the database server is running? If you're unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. |
contact your host tech support maybe? LOL :winkwink:

Good answer! Good answer!

check your username/password, maybe you changed it?

Ping the database server directly on port 3306 (unless it's not on default). I assume it's not on localhost.

Was it working and suddenly you started getting that message, or are you trying to install the application for the first time?
If you're trying to install, you probably have the wrong user/pass for MySQL, or MySQL isn't installed, or isn't set to start up at boot, or you aren't pointing to the correct path for MySQL. If it was working and broke, either MySQL took a dump (in which case you just need to restart it or reboot the box), your MySQL database is corrupt, someone somehow changed the database name, username, or password, or you got hacked. |
you may have to restart the Mysql Server
