Here's a brilliant idea for Epassporte sponsors....

......Name your Epassporte account SOMETHING that let's affiliates recognize you and know exactly where the payment is coming from. Every week there's at least one thread from an affiliate trying to figure out what sponsor paid them via Epassporte. This week's example

I'm still a little perplexed as to why some sponsors have an Epass account named in a way that has nothing to do with their business. I can understand if it's an old personal account, and if that's the case, STEP UP and just get a business account. If used correctly it will save you money in the long run. And when you set up the business account, you get the option to name the account whatever you want, regardless of corporation affiliation. That's provided the name isn't already being used.

Our Epassporte payments arrive from IslandDollars just in case there is any confusion. :winkwink:

XMaster 08-17-2006 05:44 PM

Yes that's the least they can do.

Ours arrive from Amazingpass btw :)

Greg MissionD 08-17-2006 05:49 PM

Yea that should be standard, but ours always arrive from missiondollars

It's simple why sponsors do this. We use 2 different accounts (one personal, one business) to send money from.

If the amount is under $100-$200 or so, its cheaper to do a personal p2p transfer than pay the $2 per person fee assuming the affiliate has a personal account.

$2 doesnt sound like much, but even with 100 payouts a week - that's a saving of nearly $10,000 a year.

This I can understand this logic ... and for this scenario I would suggest ...

PimpinPays
PimpinPays2

It's possible you do something similar to this already, just using the above as an example :)

With a business account you can attach any name you want to the transaction regardless of the account name. I don't know why more programs don't do this.

Very true... at the very least add something in the details to tell where the payment is from :thumbsup

flashfire 08-18-2006 01:10 AM

martinsc 09-15-2006 05:43 AM

an more bump for an important thread.

jayeff 09-15-2006 06:01 AM

Seems obvious doesn't it. But then quite a few still haven't come to grips with the idea that if they email from gmail, hotmail, etc., or from some domain no-one has ever heard of, a lot of their mailshots are going to be trashed by spam filters.

E$_manager 09-15-2006 06:12 AM

yes, nice proposition. I think that could be useful. Really.

PlugRush Sascha 09-15-2006 06:25 AM

That's a pretty good idea.

Wad 09-15-2006 06:40 AM

The point of all problems is that epass doesn't allow us (sponsors) to change login or associate something with it, moreover, all they show to our affiliates are just our logins without even transfer details.

Epass guys can do 1 small change in their code that could be done in 15 minutes, and thousands of people will get rid of this problem forever.

:2 cents:

Klen 09-15-2006 06:55 AM

If you have a business account, you can place details in with every payment you send any details you want, and most important would be your program name if it does not match your Epass account. Here's an example of the business dump format:

Epass name | 00.00 (amount) | (details for payment) | (additional details for payment)

There are at least 3 chances to let the affiliate know where the payment is coming from if you have a business account, and one for sure if you have a personal account. There is a big section for text right below user ID and payment payment that you can write anything you want. Here you can put your company details. Copy and paste if necessary. Here's an example:

"Here's your payment from (sponsor/program name) for the pay period ending (date). We thank you for your business, and are always here to help! You can always reach us at (contact info) for any questions or promotional needs. Thank you."

So if you have an account with a completely different name as your program, it would make EVEN MORE SENSE to go the extra mile to let affiliates know where they are getting paid from. It is a win-win for both parties.

And just an extra note, our Epassporte minimum payout is $25.

Sure I have business account and know about these fields and fill them all the time... problem is that they don't see it from transaction list, they should go to message center to open proper message to see the details. But many of them ignore that message center at all... epass should give us an ability to write short comment which is noticeable right from transactions list
