What is the cheapest reliable hosting? Dreamhost any good?
 

It just need to be up all the time. I hardly use any bandwidth. I don't need anything fancy. Just basic hosting.

Dream Host also has tons of problems. If you really want to be up all of the time and have good support, which is important regardless of how small your site is, you really need to stick with adult companies. Adult customers are much more demanding regarding hosting service so adult hosting companies must meet those needs.

I have a $10 monthly package. Is that cheap enough for service you can trust?

Obviously, from my sig, my view is a bit skewed, but to put it bluntly: WebAir screwed me for a few months, lied to me, and offered me a free month to make up for all of the downtime and lost monitary value.

I've been with Tear2, and haven't had any real problems, since.

i love em man. i never have downtime that i know of and they are fast by most accounts. fr the money, and basically unlimited everything, it can't be beat, unlike some of those metered places like hostway or ipowerweb

dreamhost gets my vote for the hosting co that if you can deal with little bullshit sometimes, they are cheap and hold their own.

sly is correct too. i've had phatservers account for months. their tech support and custmer support was very good to me. the only reason i moved the domains that i did was the domains are basicaly jsut traffic catchers, dont use any bnadwidth really, and don't have a real always online necessity, so i could affod to park em somewhere dirt cheap and just leave em.

if you have anything that requires the 99.999999% uptime thing i'd stick with adult hosts too.

Dreamhost sucks if you need to run any scripts. But I use them to host galleries and it work fine. They bandwidht limit is very high so I let to hotlink all images and then i see a high usage i change the image to an ad and it brings some traffic to my sites...

Find out how much space and bandwidth you need then find a way to run both as clean as possible. then get a real host that will allow visitors to actually enjoy your website.
