The head of Thailand immigration police said Thursday that Karr admitted to the killing after he was arrested at his downtown Bangkok apartment Wednesday night. Karr arrived in Bangkok on June 6 from Malaysia to look for a teaching job, Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul told The Associated Press.

"John and Patsy lived their lives knowing they were innocent, trying to raise a son despite the furor around them," Wood said. "The story of this family is a story of courage, and story of an American injustice and tragedy that ultimately people will have to look back on and hopefully learn from."

The attorney said the Ramseys learned about the suspect at least a month before Patsy Ramsey?s death. "It?s been a very long 10 years, and I?m just sorry Patsy isn?t here for me to hug her neck," Wood said.

Child pornography charges

It was widely reported, but not confirmed by authorities, that Karr taught in California until he was stripped of his teaching credentials following an arrest on child pornography charges.

Sonoma County Chief Deputy District Attorney Joan Risse confirmed the child pornography charges and arrest warrant against a John Mark Karr, though she cautioned that she didn?t know if he was the same person held in the Ramsey case. State records show Karr lost his teaching credential in 2002.

either he did do it, or participated it, or he's a jon benet junkie who is really mentally ill and is lying about it. however, its come to light he did know facets of the case that the police never divulged. however, its also coming to light that he did a ton of research on jon benet, and that he may have been planning to write a book. what will tell the tale? DNA. they'll test him and see if it matches the DNA from a male found on Jon Benet.

DNA is the deciding factor. Except for jury nullification verdicts (see the first OJ Simpson trial).

At this point I don't buy it. I think this is just a sick bastard looking for attention. If he contacted the mother via email perhaps she provided him with some information inadvertently that was related to the case that no one else knew. He is using that to run this charade.

The guys own EX wife says he was with her in Alabama the night of the murder. The family doesn't know him at all. It just doesn't add up.

another theory i will pose is they had him on charges overseas for possibly child sex crimes.. he might rather be sent back to the states and be tried on a "unpremedidtated murder" charges that might not be "life" in prison even if he had nothing to do with it , then be left in thailand prison system for however many years they have him for..

Nope he was not charged with any crime overseas nor was he going to be. Only reason he was arrested in Thailand is at the request of the Boulder Co DAs office. Fact is if he never admitted to the crime he was going to be deported anyways for being a wanted person in the US.
