Fucking windows!! please help me find a way around this network problem....

I am networking 2 computers both with windows XP and everything seems to be working like it should..... yet its not!

I can view the files on both computers just fine... all I want to do is copy pictures from one computer to the other... I can do this just fine from my laptop to the desktop.... I want to copy photos from the desktop to the laptop

It seems like it would be the same process.... the settings are the same on both computers to allow full access to network users and I have both firewalls disabled.

Why the hell can I copy from my laptop, photos from the desktop to my laptop.... but not from the desktop computer photos to the laptop?

:warning

check to see if the files (pics or whatever else you want to copy) are set to Read Only or not.. if they are, take the read only off and see if that fixes your problem.
