Buddy offers me 2000 his BMW Z3 for $9k, good deal? Yes or No....
 

Okay so here is the deal. Since I haven't made it big time like all you peoples out there, I can only afford a used BMW.

An ex business partner and long time friend offered me his 2000 Z3 for 9 grand. He needs to get a 330 or something since his extremely hot wife is about to have their first kid.... congrads!

The car is in great shape and exactly what I want with only 50K miles on it. Drives better than it looks, here is the kicker, I have 2 small kids of my own and the better half's honda and my PT Cruiser really come in handy when we need to get the kids from point A to point B.

I also have a 1987 restored BMW 325ic that I need to get rid of before hand, so I am not sure if this really is a good buy or not, so I am putting out there to see what everyone else thinks.....

I did, it is a good deal, books out at about 12. It is more of a matter of should I get it, not that it is a good deal.

Considering it's from an ex business partner and long time friend, as long as you can trust that he isn't going to pass on a lemon to you then it's not a bad deal. I would suggest getting a mechanic to check it out though. When things go wrong with a bmw it's not cheap.

Oh I agree, I have know the car since he has had it. He did purchase it from brand new. I will take your advice and have the local BMW dealer look it over since they also were the ones to maintain it for the most part.

I would chop off my nuts before I bought a Z3... My friend owned one and I always felt like a queer in the passenger seat. Can't imagine driving it.

If you are indeed purchasing the 2.3 manual. Adjust search on KBB for automatic if that's what it is. Also, if it's the 2.8, you have about $3,000 more worth of car. Go for it. :)

agreed. a guy i used to work with drove a Z3 and he was constantly getting shit for it. Kind of a girly care buddy...but hey, if you want it don't let anyone tell you not to get it

?? It's the most "muscular" looking roadster out there... Not as much as the M roadster with it's bigass meats on the back but still pretty good looking.
