Who has a Dell printer?

Where are some places I can get ink for a Dell printer other than dell.com?

For the best price just hit up either pricewatch.com or ebay, what's your model # of the printer sickkittens?

Stupid question, do I have to use Dell ink only w/ Dell printers?

I'm used to using HP's but I'm having problems w/ it.

No, you don't have to use Dell only ink. As long as it's 720 compatible you'll be great. Just hit up eBay for the best price or pricewatch.com if you need it asap and type in dell 720 or dell 720 ink, and you'll be set. Looks like the going price is around $20-21

So HP ink cartridges would work?

Yes, *as long* as its 720 compatible. The newer ink cartridges (like from 3 or 4 years ago plus) are sometimes specifically coded to work with specific printer types only (they do this to encourage you to buy only from them). But as long as the cartridge is 720 compatible, you'll be set.

I have an older HP cartidge in the box - don't want to open it if I don't have to. The picture of it doesn't look like the old Dell one...or maybe I'm just not looking at it the right way.

If it's not the shape them it definitely won't be compatible :P It should say on the box the listed printers it'll work with. I doubt it'll be compatible though because of the size difference. If it's not generic HP ink but a retail HP-specific coded ink, it won't work either (most retail cartridge are specifically coded to only work with their brand of printer). I was thinking you had generic ink that worked with HP printers, looks like you have the retail so it probably won?t work with your dell printer even if the size was identical.

Any suggestions where I can get the Dell ink offline?

I?m not sure on your store selection? but I would call a local Office Max if you have it. Office Max has always been great for their selection of retail ink, albeit it?s more expensive than anything you?ll find online. A few years back they were still carrying toner for my ancient Epson EPL-8000 (like 1989 or some shit, it?s ancient and they were carrying it in like 2003 LOL). That?d probably be your best bet.
