IE7 ? share you experience

I've upgraded to IE7 few days ago and i must admit i start to like it .
Althought the fonts i see now in certain pages looks different and it's annoying , and the tabs are not working when the link is "target=_blank" , in this case it opens new explorer and not new tab .

What do you think ?

so far I like it. like you said it takes a little getting used to but once you do its perfect. the only issue I do have from time to time is when I open a new tab (CTRL-T for those that do not know the hotkey) and forget that I have two sites open in one window and close it out and lose both sites by mistake. it can be frustrating to say the least.

I find it very slow loading up iv you have the bookmarks bar on the browser and any other toolbars

but other than that, I love it

Hhhmmm, it may be time for me to upgrade soon but I think I will wait a bit longer for more feedback

Great but last time I tried it was too buggy for me. Specifically it had problems filling in forms and with script pages. Scripts that took too long to run it wouldn't process and any page with image recognition on (such as most TGP submit pages) didn't work at all.

It could be these have been sorted now but until I'm certain they have I'll keep clear of it. The script timeout thing was very, very annoying.

I don't mind admitting to using IE simply because most of my surfers do and 80% of my day is spent changing and building pages. Even with plugins available in FF it's still easier to simply use the browser most of your punters use. IE6 is stable and secure enough (if kept updated).

I often use FF but usually when doing stuff where the plugins become handy :) (thought I'd add all that before the idiots come in shouting about how great FF is, how dumb I am to use IE at all and how cool they are to use FF because MS doesn't own it). Horses for courses so to speak.

So i still use FF :) :) :)

How I can make update?

Devilporn 08-16-2006 07:39 AM

Works ok but Firefox is still better as of now.
And it seems to be taking a lot of resources if you let a window open for a long time with many tabs.
It's still a step in the right direction.

elron: they say people with LCDs will see a "big improvement" with this clear-type thing.. I see a big blur

here's the fix

1. Open IE7
2. Open Tool Menu
3. Click Internet Options
4. Click Advanced Tabs
5. Under Multimedia, clear the Use ClearType checkbox
6. Click OK X 2

pawsreqd: right now it doesn't worth to upgrade. it's just IE6 with some candies , too bad they don't work properly
