Weekend in the Bahamas! Boat, Beach and Golf Pics!

Hi Everyone! Even though we live in a place called paradise rarely do we get to enjoy it. Both Beth and I work 7 days a week and 10 hours minimum a day. Whenever we have guests come to visit it definitely adds stress to our lives but the nice thing is it allows us to enjoy the island the way it was meant to be enjoyed. Last week my parents came to visit it was my dad's first time visiting in the 5 years we've lived here (no drama :1orglaugh just isn't big on planes). Anyhow we don't get to see my parents much so we tried to show them a good time. My dad was photo happy he took something like 700 pics lol. I thought I'd share a few with gfy so other can see a few things the Bahamas has to offer as well as some cool pics ;)

NOTE: these are nowhere near Dean Capture photography, while my dad may share the same name he doesn't share the same talent at photography.

SECOND NOTE: It was a trip with my parents there so there were no Twistys girls used or harmed during these pics :winkwink:

Here they are (click to enlarge). Enjoy.

Day at the beach. Only thing missing that day was my wakeboard. I can't believe i left it at home :(

Same beach looking the other way.

House being built on that beach. Enlarge the pic and check out those Bahamians working in 100 degree burning sun. DAMN i would not want that job.

Pic taken on Paradise Island near the Atlantis and Riu hotels.

View from the water on the way to the deserted island. Barry Bonds' home (which is for sale, Lensman in the market for a home?) is the 3rd one from left to right.

RRRED 08-15-2006 10:40 PM

Ohhhhh I'd love to just sit on that beach for one day. Sigh... gorgeous pics

beemk 08-15-2006 10:43 PM

damn that looks really nice, when i was there i only went shopping and to atlantis. you would think that being a local you would stay away from there, you cant walk 10 ft without having 3 guys try to rent you jet skis.

Shap 08-15-2006 10:43 PM

Here are the golf pics for those interested. Took my dad golfing a few times and on the last day brought him to play Ocean Club which is an absolutely phenomenal. He loved it. It's a stunning course with beautiful ocean and beach views as well as multi million dollar homes everywhere.

NOTE: I think Oystein, Gamma Joel, Sean NsCash, Vivid Mike and Harmik need to find a way here to play on my home turf (no more of this dragging me out into the middle of the desert with no ride home shit! :1orglaugh)

View from a tee box.

Another tee box which had ocean views.

Gorgeous homes in every direction

I wasn't smiling for long. I went right off the green into the trap and was stuck there :1orglaugh

On the 17th hole my ball decided to take a break on the beach.
http://www.twistyspreviews.com/bahamas/IMG_3224.jpg

Here was a special guest on the course. Would have loved to watch this guy chase Joel.

As DrinkingHard knows we have Golf and Hockey in the bahamas.
Here's me in net trying to show off for my dad (funny thing is some 9 year old kid scored on me 5 minutes earlier LOL not much showing off going on).

And of course the Lovely and Beautiful Captain Beth.

Yeah i agree. My parents wanted to spend a day on Paradise Island beach so I dropped them off there. I'm not big on that beach. Too many people and the jet skis guys need to be shot (they are seriously dangerous mofos). The other pics are from boat access only beaches ;) It is the best way to get away and enjoy a quiet relaxing day.

Yea from http://www.usaweekend.com/05_issues/...r_shakira.html

"Two years ago, "we bought homes" in the Bahamas, where Shakira has converted her garage into a recording studio. "I like the tranquillity and peace of being on an island," she says. "It has that solitude that is so necessary for the creation of songs." In her off time, she tends to her flower garden and likes to grocery shop in her pajamas."

And from Rolling Stones http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/...aking_barriers

"Until then, Shakira is logging late hours at her home studio in the Bahamas, putting the finishing touches on Oral Fixation Vol. 2, the English-language sequel to Fijacion Oral."

Cool. That explains why my wife saw her shopping one day. If she walked by i probably wouldn't even know who she was. lol.

Mpegmaster 08-15-2006 11:19 PM

LOL surprisingly my putting was dead on that day. I was really doing well. My problem was the damn sand traps. I think i was in the sand 11 times. Still found a way to pull out a 91.

Not unless there is a huge hurricane on the way. Not many people surf here but quite a few kite surf.

soulbleed 08-15-2006 11:32 PM

awesome pics.

OK, thats it. I will have to take you down with my newfound 9 and 7 WOODS. 91 sounds just too good to be true, so a re-match is looming.

I had the pressure of facing off against my dad. We are very competitive so I had to play well. In our 4 rounds I shot 86, 95, 92 and then 91 (the first 3 scores were on another course). Finally starting to get back into it. Next time I'm in LA look out! :thumbsup

:1orglaugh LOL I couldn't imagine.

btw there are some killer photoshoot locations around the island. I actually came across a beautiful hotel that has been shutdown that is beachfront. They have an ocean front pool that is the perfect for photoshoots. Would be killer if they'd be willing to rent it to us for the day :winkwink:

He gave the place a $3,600 "replacement of clubs" claim - some idiots to give his clubs away, huh? Ill be watching next time I leave my clubs...

Pornwolf 08-16-2006 12:31 AM

Looks like a wonderful place. I never got a chance to see the scenery other than Paradise Island beaches and inland in Nassau.

Are most $500k plus homes made of concrete blocks like the one under construction in that pic?

OG LennyT 08-16-2006 12:44 AM
