Punished for a compliment...

Today my cousin got reprimanded at work. He had to sit down with the ?big boss? and have a heart to heart talk about his conduct at work.

The reason?

He told a female coworker that a friend of his was correct in his opinion that she was a very good-looking female. She immediately went over to the other guy and hugged him, thanking him for his nice comment. Later, that guy talked to the manager, telling him how uncomfortable my cousin made him feel with the comment to their female coworker?

And my cousin was talked to? Yes people, in the world we live in, we can be punished for complimenting in a respectful manner. That is one of the many reasons why the corporate life is just not for me. Glad to be here :thumbsup

Sounds fairly inappropriate what he said. I?m sure the way he worded it was in such a manor that made the guy feel quite uncomfortable. If your cousin had said something like ?man <insert random female name here>, you look absolutely beautiful today!?, I?m pretty sure that nothing would have happened, and the other guy would have had no reason to get upset or feel upset at what was said to the female coworker. Replace absolutely beautiful today with a slightly? how do you say, less-than-appealing choice of words and there you go.

It was completely innocent, and not at all inappropriate. And even if it was, for the guy to go to his boss instead of just talking to my cousin is so chicken shit.

most people are idiots. :2 cents:

I'll agree with you on the chicken shit part, you should always tell the person you have the problem with what's on your mind and if I was your cousin I?d probably end up beating the fuck out of him after work. But in all honesty... there was no way what he said could have been 'completely innocent' unless the place is just REALLY itching for a reason to fire your cousin.

he should just learn to keep his mouth shut while at work. Wanna flirt? Meet up outside the job at a Happy Hour

georgeyw 08-16-2006 12:57 AM

so the guy got embarrassed cos your cousin told this girl that he thought she was good looking? Then told the "big boss"??

FFS - if a chic I thought was good looking found out I thought that and then promptly gave me a hug for thinking such a thing .... i'd be happy and hoping for some nookie! This guy sounds like a pissy little jerk off.

Ace_luffy 08-16-2006 01:09 AM

The guy friend is probably gay, so a hug from a girl may have tossed his lunch!

Hooligan 08-16-2006 03:54 AM

your cousin is a dumbass

V_RocKs 08-16-2006 04:11 AM

I got busted once because I told a female coworker who was drinking a diet cola and talking about how she needed to or she might get fat that she appeared to be genetically inclined to keep her figure.

Next thing I know I am suspended 3 days without pay... go figure!

goldrush 08-16-2006 04:17 AM

if she hugged him, she obviously wanted to have sex with him... they should have both just taken her and stuffed both her holes right then and there.

Agreed. Sounds like something that could have easily been worked out between the two of them

The "other guy" sounds like a wimp and a worm who needs to be smacked upside the head.

Your cousin meanwhile needs to type up a new resume as unfortunatly the well has been poisoned as it were.

free4porn 08-16-2006 06:41 AM

i hate stuff like that at work. Sucks :(

I still don't get how this doesn't just make it more embarassing for the guy. :error

I suppose by now the entire office should know about that AND his weird behaviour afterwards. :upsidedow
