Go to a nice oem shop and build your own (get them to build it for you, it will cost you $30 extra). Buy your monitor separatly.
You can have exactly the specs you want (and no shitty video card if you don't play video game), pay less and have it done your way. |

Sam's Club is a joke.

I always end up paying roughly $1,500 on the interweb every three years for a new computer, and that?s enough to get me usually near-top of the line stuff. It?s roughly time for me to upgrade now but going to wait for Vista I guess and make sure all the hardware I have is ?vista? ready, especially if it comes out of the box with Wireless USB but I hear wireless USB ain?t going to be ready for Vista launch, though with all the delays Vista is having, it may be :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

sams club sucks.. it is not worth the $$$ in my opinion..
Get this... I went to Sams Club a few weeks ago and they had Prada and LV purses in a glass shelf.. I WAS SHOCKED .. I though how in the hell do they even have these purses.. ???? A week later.. I saw on Cnn that Sams club was being sued for selling illegal purses lol WTF??!! |
that sucks. You can buy electronics at costco because they have the best return policy in history.
|
why wouldnt you just order one from dell for this? HP has way too many problems, also if you work on them they are a pain in the ass. Everything is extremly cramped in the towers, the setup is shitty. I was suprised, it only took me 10 minutes to replace the power supply in one (my moms, I curse her for buying that damn HP) today... however in the same machine a Hard drive took about an hour and a half once... its insane. My Dell on the other hand i can have anything changed in less then 10 minutes. did a DVD drive in 5 minutes once

Returned it last week, used and all, got the 2K and bought a better 65inch LCD I love costco. |
I used to sell Pionex computers (anyone have an old Pionex or Quantex box?) to Sam's Club.
The electronics buyers at Sam's (or BJ's or Costco) put so much pricing pressure on their vendors that the vendors are forced to put out a product with as many corners cut as possible. They use cheaper MOBO's, recycled/refurbished parts, weaker fans, crappier power supplies, etc.. The manufacturer pretty much gets fucked when dealing with Sam's. If you sell Sam's Club 50000 computers, they will return 25000 of them the next month. One month later the computers aren't worth shit to the vendor because pricing drops every month. However, if the vendor refuses Sam's Club returns, he risks not getting anymore orders from Sam's. The vendor accepts the returns, takes the returned computers apart, sells the chips in the grey market and uses the rest of parts to build the next order from Sam's. |
