726 gay military members kicked out nationwide in 2005
The Pentagon has said there were 726 military members discharged under the military's Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy last year. That's up 11 percent from the year before.
At a time when we need troops so badly we're issuing stop-loss orders preventing people from retiring, raising the maximum age to enlist to 40, calling back soldiers who have already retired, and are sending national guard troops to active combat, the military is kicking out good men and women, because they're gay. Good Policy or Bad Policy? http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/08/14/mil....ap/index.html |
i dont see the big deal with being gay in the military, if they are going to do a job fine, who cares about the governments adgenda.
their loss if some men want to stand up for their country. |
As long as they do their job, what's the problem? They can have any sexual orientation they want as long as they do their work. :thumbsup

Must be because the straight soldiers would be too scared to shower together with teh gays. If someone dropped the soap, no one would dare to pick it up. The risk of a soldier slipping on the soap and braking his neck would be too high.

I'm pretty sure they just raised it to 42. |
There's one problem with gay soldiers, they always attack from behind...

What kind of fuck-up at age 40-42 takes a job as a private in the army? :2 cents: |
I've always wondered about the reasoning behind this policy. The best I can come up with is the HIV transmission risk on the battlefield.

Well, they do have to make room for the thousands of children of members of the administration, senate, congress, and the mainstream media who are rushing to sign up to fight the war their parents talked us in to.

They've also lowered training requirements, older recruits don't have to be able to do as many sit ups and push ups, etc as they used to. Not kidding. |
Gays shouldn?t be allowed in the military, Jesus Christ, every time somebody yells get down they?ll start stripping off their clothes and dancing to imaginary disco music.

There have always been gay people in the military.
I was in the Navy prior to the don't ask don't tell policy, and I knew several gay people, including one who worked for me. There was some discrimination and harrasment, but most people figured as long as they are doing their job, no problem. It took a long time to desegregate the military because of race, and it is taking an even longer time for the military to come to terms with gay personnel. I'm sure that are very likely tens of thousands of gay people currently on active duty. ADG Webmaster |
