<<<<<<< NIKON D50 >>>>>>>> Anyone Have or Use One???
Thinking about buying a Nikon D50 for some basic photography - anyone use one and have any problems? Is it worth the x-tra $300 for a D70? :helpme

bump for ya. I dont have one. but I would go with the D70

I have the D50 and love it.
It does everything plus more that you'll ever need for personal needs. I can't say anything bad about it except you will need a 70 X 300 zoom lens to go with it because the 28 X 70 zoom lens doesn't cut it. It also takes awesome night time pictures without flash but a tripod comes in handy for night shots. I bought the standard Nikon 70 X 350 lens for $160 and it works great. The camera store pushed the digital zoom lens for $350. FYI the battery lasts for weeks and 4000 - 5000 pictures without needing a charge. |
other than being a tit slower, any major differences?? I'd like to throw the saved money into an extra lens or flash...

I think that any difference between the D50/D70 or D80 can be made up
with the ISO setting and a good lens ! You'd be smart to go with the D50 and spend the extra money on the lens and filters etc.. |
I'd go with Canon 300 or 350D

I don't have one...

It's a great camera. I was Canon all the way but tried out the 50 and loved it. The shooting burst alone is worth it. 2 frames per second and it can shoot over 100 pics before you run out of buffer.
I think for the money it is the best camera on the market. If you are a real pro shooter I would get the D70. |
There was a big discussion about this a while ago... might interest you.
