black rims on a black car, bad idea?
 

i was thinking of putting black rims on my car even though it's black. is this a bad idea experts of everything in the world on gfy?

I always hate black rims...looks like a poor person with no rim covers...thats how I always see em

yeah thats what i'm talking about, just not that style and i'm trying to find a good one with no chrome at all almost. but a little chrome wont hurt

now that, on the other hand, would actually look good since the entire rim is not black.

One thing I know looks wicked, is a pure white car with black rims and low profile tires. Sick shit.

Only if you plan on removing all of the other markings on the car. Like the stickers, and the logos etc.

i think i did most of that already except on the back where it has the northstar and cadillac name

It probably depends on the car. A friend of mine drives a BMW 745 and he has black 22's with the lip of the rim silver. It looks pretty slick.

Ive never seen black rims on a caddy...If you do go black, get some with a thick polished rim, maybe 2 inches, breaks up all that black. Nice rim size tho! :thumbsup

Black on black is hot ... i love it .. i had a Black Range Rover with Black Rims a few years back and always got compliments .. I've been looking at the Cadi's .. I was thinking Black on black or white with chrome .. not sure yet.

I say Go with the black ..I think the Chrome is getting plaid out .. everyone has chrome rims ..:2 cents:

Those are nice...Digi, where do you live? Im in the NY/CT area, and you just dont see many black rims on the nicer cars, just usually the civics/gti's etc. ricers

Those are nice, but too thick, imo i just think a nice slim 5-6 star maybe 1 inch think is so classy. The ghetto cars around here have that thick chrome rims, looks like they have chromed sewer caps wrapped in tires.

can be, but i still have my original rims on my car and i still love them. and for originality reasons they will stay there

All black doesn't look so good imo. I saw a cls55 amg last night with rims similar to the one Ice posted and it was the best looking Mercedes I've ever seen.

what's the point of buying rims?? spending $1k-$2k on new wheels, seems completely stupid, if I was going to piss away $2k on a car I would rather spend it on some performance mods instead....

black rims are nice, as long as you have a chrome lip on it!

I have no idea what performance options you have for your car, go look around cadillac forums to get some ideas... but really, if performance is your thing, I don't think you bought the right car...

yep performance isnt my thing, the northstar runs smooth and fast enough for doing what a pimp needs to do

Use a chrome or aluminum center cap or plate and it will look ok!:thumbsup

supercharge it! if thats too much, cold air intake, performance chip and intake/piping...combine that with a northstar, it will be running INSANE for under 1500...supercharge it, it will be sex on wheels :thumbsup
