the recorded video iframe is the ONLY plug-in tool they have that actually has in-motion video (which ya might think is important for a webcam site!!!)- and it don't work...

not that i really care that much, but it would be nice to have something to fill up some empty page space and which would have a reasonable chance of catching a surfers' attention and leading to sales... AFF geo-targeted banners don't do so well with that anymore because of the saturation... i tried gambling banners but they don't convert on porn sites...

the whole porno-webcam space could be sooooo much more of an income generator than it is... nobody is executing a sensible business plan in a good way...

It was 3 weeks ago that I posted it and all I can say is that I tried. I'm not a big enough fish to get much attention.

yeah, i see that even Lars responded in the thread but was "spaceboy travelling the galaxy" and didn't even understand the problem...

it's fucking stupid on their end to throw out so much money and not even fix such a small, easy-to-fix, and absolutely essential problem...

yep i agree, first problem i've ever had with them though, they've always been fast and cool with everything.

oh, i actually just figured out the right way to solve this problem:

i go to some paysite sponsors...

get a webmaster access pass...

download the movies...

encode them to flash...

post them on my site with a link to cams.com...

and that's how cams.com should be promoted- with stolen content rather than dysfunctional ad tools!!!

yeah i had to post and ask about it, i thought it was me just doing something wrong at first and couldn't get it to work. i figured having what appeared to be live video of a camgirl on a page would get some clicks for sure and when it's working if it ever is i will probably give it a try.

but in the meanwhile it's being passed up with other places offering more now

The video is not resizable that is something you have to build into flash a seperate flash player would have to be built it has never been able to resize the video.

It did resize in the past but I believe that was before your latest flash player update and it hasn't worked since then.

yes the website does say that and i am sorry it does, it is not possible at this time to do what it says, however i have passed this to my tech team fopr the 3rd time I hope they can come up with a solution, building a whole new flash player might be out of the question at this time given our current work load.

You hit the nail on the head. Downloadable Flash promotional video's and media feeds with nifty tricks built in are the next big thing and nobody has them at all yet (in Adult anyhow).

It's gonna be like RSS feeds were. Affiliates will scream for them for a year or two before Sponsors get around to adding them and even then most Sponsors will add them "just because someone said feeds are good" rather than understanding how to make them so they can be usable and unique for each affilate. :error

Not digging at AFF but Sponsors generally. They really need to have their finger on the "what is hot or what will be hot" pulse and not wait for a critical mass of affiliates to ask for something before they look into it. :)

Which brings it back to the fucking FERRARI issue! Is there anything that could more blantently say "we're gonna throw money at the problem but not really solve it"?

Heck, I don't care- promote cams or not promote cams- what's the difference to me- nothing! It's not my Ferrari or my $105 payouts that I'm throwing away.

It's just odd that a guy as well-respected and "legendary" as Lars doesn't see the complete lack of effective CAMS.com promo tools as an issue. Basically he's saying "I don't give a fuck if we have shitty promo tools. Here's my Ferrari instead."

It's a real shame because cams.com is real starting from the #1 position in the webcam market and right now it has so much potential that is not being exploited. They have such a strong presence among affiliates. They could use it but are not.

OK, Lars, here is your technical solution in about three sentaces:

- Take the recorded video streams and ffmpeg them into different sizes at 30px multiples, i.e. 120px width, 180px, etc... up to, say, 360px or whatever.

- Have the iframe use the appropriate resized recorded stream based on the value of the &width= query string.

- Update the documentation on the CAMS.com affiliate tools page to reflect the fact that arbitrary widths are not allowed, only multiples of 30px between 120px and 360px.

One day of work- maybe two max- for one guy.

I noticed that on the player it has a bar across the bottom of player that says "Click Here To Sign Up" Right above where you type text in.

It does NOT link you to a sign up page.

Also when you hover over the player the cursor looks like if you click it, it will take you to a sign up page. But Doesnt. Looks like there is some work to be done.

But hey. If I was the owner and I was giving my ferrari away I would want the best Player to make conversions.

We added it to our sites and you have to click the text above the player to get directed to the sign up page. Need to be able to click the Player or at least the Button below the player window above the text box and have it direct you to the sign up page.

This would work nicely.

Wonder if the Ferrari was paid with the profits from the illegal sites they support...
