What's the secret to clear thumbs?
Can anyone tell me how to make thumbs that are super clear?
What happens to me is that I have a large image and I cut it into a rectangle to make the thumb and then I shrink it to make it thumbnail size. When I shrink it, the image becomes blurry. How do I keep it clear? I do gallery reviews and I see the same webmasters consistenly sending crisp quality thumbs day after day. I don't think it's because that's how they bought them. I think they touch them up because another webmaster will submit the same content and it'll be grainy. |
Sharpen them :D photoshop filters

You can also play with hue saturation brightness curves etc...
|
You definetly should learn atleast curves if you plan on making nice galleries
|
use a marquee and copy PART of the image then paste to a appropriate sized new file and save for web
|
OR you can get a thubnailer program that can do all this for you....

thanks Unfortunately I'm on 5.0 and it doesnt have a "save for web" option, that I can see. But I dont think (or know) if theres a difference of just saving the thumb as a jpeg or using the save for web feature (that I don't have) |
FUCK! I spoke too soon
how do I save the new thumb as a jpg? when I do save as the only option is to save it as a psd. |
np
no jpg is jpg the "for web" just has different adjustments bit if your new clear jpgs fall within your personal gallery/page file size requirements, you will be fine using 5 |
