I need advise with Adobe Premier

Why is it that every time Adobe does a Timeline update (small window appears "updating timeline. please wait...") it freezes the program .. and I lose my last save ... WTF?!?!

there are still too many bugs in Premier 1.5 ... Any suggestions to maybe the set ups .. that might stop this from happening every few days ???

BTW I'm on a dual pentimum 4 with a Matrox RTX 100 Extreme card

why don't you upgrade to pro 2.0 man, it is WAY better....I never experience any glitches in it anymore

turn off the auto-save feature. Its in the project settings

Dude the auto save folder only had yesterday's saves .. None from today ..
However I found a second Auto save Folder within the first and it had my last save in it (odd but at least I didn't lose all the work for the last hour) ...
Hense why I wouldn't turn off the auto save feature ...

But I do find that pro 1.5 is very unstable .. I get alot of Premier crashes ...

ARRRGGGG .. It happened again!!!!!!!!

I disconected the web on my edit suite last week .. Does the update feature need a web connection ???

Adobe quit supporting the Mac platform for some products, including Premiere, so I switched to Final Cut Pro. I've never had a single crash with FCP, and if you know Premiere, it's a snap to learn.

Autosave totally runs in the background, and you can set rendering to occur in realtime or wait until you are ready (for example, I start rendering before going to bed).

I'm not sure what you use for compression, but Cleaner works really well for me (it can batch process several versions of a movie in different formats and sizes).

LAst year .. When I was with a different client I used FCP HD on a G5 .. Loved it .. Never crashed on me . Premier could learn a lesson from them ! ... Damn system crashes daily ...

I seriously need to find a tech that knows Adobe Premier and Matrox .. BTW I love my RTX 100 Card .. the real time effects are awesome
