boston airport is the only US airport not allowing things like ipods and laptops

at least, this is my take on the whole thing from what I reading

mardigras 08-11-2006 08:56 AM

They aren't allowing any liquids or electronic devices, including cell phones to be carried onboard.

from http://www.atlanta-airport.com/Defau...ty/secpage.htm

Electronic items are allowed and will be screened as usual.

Jace 08-11-2006 09:03 AM

from another article

Authorities have banned travelers from carrying liquids and other gel-based products such as toothpaste and makeup onto planes. Those items are permitted in checked luggage.

nothing about electronics

KRL 08-11-2006 09:04 AM

Luggage thieves are going to have a field day. :1orglaugh

Expensive cameras, laptops, vidcams, cell phones, pdas, in suitcases?

Say goodbye to your good stuff.

thunder99 08-11-2006 09:04 AM

It's all over the news in Europe. Nothing is to carried aboard.

I'm going to get a job in airline security, imagine all the cool stuff you'll get to take of people and keep.

That doesn't mean each airport is following this to a "T". I've seen (no link, it was on tv) several sources saying "no carry-on" at all, incl. laptops.

And keep in mind, these restrictions are going to change over the coming days, weeks. So what's prohibited today may not be tomorrow.

Jaii 08-11-2006 09:13 AM

jesus! give it another year and its going to be "fly naked or nothing"

oh, ok, gotcha, this is for international flights mainly

that sucks though, and for a flight that long they better have some good in flight movies to make up for it

d00t 08-11-2006 09:14 AM

The no laptops and ipods are only for flights TO/FROM United Kingdom.

This will be interesting considering most corporate travel policys prevent equipment over $x from being checked in or leaving their sight...

well, I will be sure and print out a copy of that doc from the homeland security website...LOL...I would kick some ass if I had to stand in line for 20 minutes to get through security only to find I can't take a laptop on board

DutchTeenCash 08-11-2006 09:16 AM

carry-on and checked both says YES to laptops

DutchTeenCash 08-11-2006 09:17 AM
