I've seen it and I loved it. If you liked the movie Heat you'll love Miami Vice. :2 cents:

I liked it, definitively a good movies but I was expecting more.

I personally think Heat was better than Miami Vice.

Batts... you know i'm a pretty positive guy but it was one of the most god awful pieces of crap I've seen. Just saw it last night so it is fresh in my mind. Not one part of the movie was done well. The acting was bad on all fronts... and you didn't care about ANY of the characters. The cinematographer should be shot and the editor should be drawn an quartered. The writing was bad as well, but I didn't go in expecting Pulp Fiction.

It was almost amusing how painfully long each sequence lasted... like when they cut the film they left each segment 3 seconds too long. Colin Farrell had this funny Popeye style walk and Jamie Foxx seemed to have to labor to tone his acting down to match the other characters. The Asian girl was cute, but not near enough to salvage a positive experience from the movie.

The only positive part was I got a sweet Miami Vice shotglass with my popcorn and soda combo. Let me know what you think of it :)

Go see it and decide for yourself :thumbsup

I thought it was the best overall movie that I had seen since Crash. But I thought it was some of the best cinematography that I have seen in my life.

The opinions are VERY split on this film for sure

bvds 08-11-2006 02:37 AM

I was thinking about seeing it today but I went to see The Sentinel instead :thumbsup

that is your opinion, and I respect that. But I loved it, It was awesome. If you liked collateral, you will probably like this.

I LOVE Little Brown Asses 08-11-2006 02:47 AM

can someone tell me:

does miami vice just abruptly start in a club scene without any opening credits or titles? i feel like the first 15 minutes of the movie were just missing......

not sure if that was Michael Mann's "art" or if the guy in the projector booth accidentally chopped off the first 15 minutes while he was splicing the trailers on.

whoever forgot to "start" the movie - the director or the projectionist - fucking ruined it. :2 cents:

I agree that I would have liked to have been warmed up a bit more. Splashes between the club, credits, and that guy driving his car really fast would have been good i think.

Just found out the same guy did Collateral and Heat. I didn't think it was possible, but now I am even more disappointed :(
