haha, i've done that before...


as a telemarketer, which i was once... you call many people, for many different things, all in a small period of time... one minute you're selling the sunday paper to residents at home, and you ask is so and so home, and they say no hes working, and you say is this hi wife, or is his wife around? then the next call you're calling to sell the buisness paper to businesses and you get caught up and you say is the owner available, no, is his wife, oops... then your next call is you're calling joe bob to let him know that his insurance company is having a special deal going on for current customers, and joe isn't home, so you ask if his wife is...

don't say the telemarketers are stupid, you do ALOT of shit as a telemarketer, we counted how many calls we do in 1 hour... i had over 230 calls in an hour...

you never know what it's like until your've been to the other side, I have, unfortunately heh

Back in the 80's and then tried my hand at it part time a few years ago

Its a tough business and i NEVER want to do it again

Telemarketers can make good money. When i used to own a double-glazing firm we had 16 year-olds pulling in 400 quid a week. Managers could be making several K / week.

EDIT : Tho our door canvass teams always made far more.
