My perspective about Internext this year!
I thought this was a great show and just as important (for me) - it was a fantastic working vacation! I've enjoyed staying at the Diplomat every single year. It's one of my favorite places PERIOD ... and the weather was great - not overly hot/muggy and oppressive in the least this year!
It cost about 5K total for my wife and I including flights, cabs, room, badges and food and drinks. Sure, it was a little "spendy" but overall it was well worth the trip because the end result was we both got a ton of biz done. For me personally, the immediate ROI is completely measurable and the future biz (based on new contacts) will be as well. The fact that I'm in the content biz makes it a little easier to calculate my returns, for which I'm fortunate - maybe more fortunate than most. There may have been less attendees this year in comparison to past years but there were more than enough quality people for me to talk biz with. I set 6 meetings up in advance and took all of them on the first day. 4 of the 6 were conducted poolside which was great. The other 2 were up on the show floor which was cool too. I spent about an hour up there on both friday and saturday and (although it wasn't slammed wall to wall with attendees) it looked like everyone was getting business done there too. My guesstimate is that the show was 2/3's the size of last year, but again FOR ME - it was big enough! The cabanas were great poolside - and it seemed to me that business was getting done all around. Everywhere I looked from poolside to the lobby to the bars and resturaunts - there were mini meetings going on. Obviously, I can't speak for anyone else - and I know that many others spent WAY MORE than I did to attend and bring 'their people" ... but I think the show was a success! :2 cents: Thanks again to AVN for providing this yearly event for me to have an enjoyable vacation, get a tax deduction and make money while doing so! :winkwink: :thumbsup :thumbsup |
I dont know what show floor you wondered up to but we never seen the show floor packed bro, The shhow was ok, not the best
|
Ya I absolutely agree, there was a lot of business as well as fun to be had at the show, and a lot of people said the same. It was great meeting you there as well, Jonathan, and I look forward to seeing you again at future shows! :)

i have nothing to add - just that it was my business partner and not my wife i brought...

J$tyles, it was great seeing you and the missus! Glad to hear you both had a great time!
|
Jonathan - Thanks for your intelligent persective on the show. The way I see it, you get out of a show what you put in. Business can be done at a smaller "gathering" just as well as a larger convention. If your priorities are in order and you don't go overboard on partying you will always get business done... Cheers man and see you at the next one!
|
It was great seeing another old timer J$tyle$! I would agree with your assessment as I felt the show was plenty big and I was able to do plenty of business.

Thank you I think so too.. And they are definitely deserving of their love and respect :) |
The show floor is a result of the cabanas... more and more people are moving outdoors, which makes the indoor show less and less impressive. It isn't anywhere near as hard to get people to "man the booth" when it is a cabana next to the pool, and that is what is happening.
There may be a point where the entire show happens in Cabanas and maybe in the hotel lobby. |
the show floor was great for us.. we had an awesome location and got a lot of good foot traffic
|
The shows are always what you make of them ... personally for me this show was great. I had my normal duties in the cabana and dinner, but I was really impressed with the business I got done at the dinners and just in the lobby.
Great show overall .... |

I like having the show floor if just for an hour each day. Good to see what's going on and meet and greet in THAT atmosphere too! Having both is ideal for attendees that know how to "work the show" :2 cents: |

We are putting the finishing touches on a few projects and then going to be contacting you. I believe there is quite a bit of business for us to do :thumbsup |
Right on J$tyle$!
It was a great show for all of us at AdultChamber.com as well :) |
honestly you made the best of it

I look forward to hearing from you whenever you are ready. Also, keep in mind that last endeavor I whispered to you. I know you have a ton of projects going on but there are big things happening in that direction - and I'd love to make some moves with you sooner than later! :thumbsup :thumbsup |

Now you've got me excited! ... in a purely heterosexual way, that is! :1orglaugh |
Many people have told me I was actually not there.
After the last trip I can rightly say I'm not even sure I was. He he Saw J and better half enjoying themselves in the pool on the Monday, but left them alone, watching young love is so sweet. ;-) |
Good seeing you again J.
For me the show was very busy. Wall to wall meetings on Friday and Sat. My people had down time though. Next year we'll bring a smaller contingent. |

Dammit I missed seeing your wife AGAIN!!!!
I'll see ya when we come out to the LA show in November. You can prank call 12clicks on my cell again, ;) |
have to agree with you J. The show was smaller but many times I prefer that. It makes it easier to find the people i need to talk to and not be overwhelmed with the masses. PrideBucks probably had more actual "meetings" than at any other show. I didn't go to the show with a lot of expectations, but was pleasantly surprised by the amount of business that was done.
I think we're moving into an age of smaller, more intimate shows and I'm all for it. As has been said, you get out of a show what you're willing to put into it, whether there are 50 people or 5000, there is always business to be done and deals to be made. Great to see you and D, as always. love to the family. |
J, hit me up by email or icq so we can chat!
|
why are you so sexy ?

I had a great show... as far as Internext shows go, I don't know that I've ever done so much new business or gotten to know so many new people.
|
glad you had a good time

But it was cool that there were not alot of people around, I got to talk to people I normally wouldn't talk to. |
It was nice to meet you man!
|
I like to say it's quality, not quantity, and this show meets that criteria in my book.

I'm getting the same positive feedback from the rest of my clients.
I'm glad everyone enjoyed the show. See you all in Vegas next year. |

looking forward to it, Sheri :) |
