Well than they are psychic. The suit was filed by the FTC against moviepass.tv and all their affiliated companies, corporations, shells, etc, 48 hours ago.

Doctor Dre 08-10-2006 03:21 PM

On what grounds ? Are they mainstream too ?

Kimmykim 08-10-2006 03:23 PM

Interesting. Not surprising though.

Hm, recently saw another program with a somewhat similiar set of join terms

"By clicking the "Submit" button I affirm that I am over 21 years of age and that I will receive 30-Days FREE access if I accept two affiliate promotional offers on the following pages within 24 hours. If I fail to accept the two offers within 24 hours, I understand that I will be immediately charged $81.36 for an annual license to the MediaPipe Download Manager Software. I also understand that if, after accepting two trial offers, I decide not to cancel within the 30-day trial period then I will be charged the annual license fee at the expiration of the trial period. I further understand that for my convenience this transaction will automatically renew each year until cancelled. Please review our complete billing terms for more information regarding this offer."

SmokeyTheBear 08-10-2006 04:59 PM

and now all the sponsors i warned to take it down that i warned would get dragged through the mud along with them will be shocked to see the feds go looking at them next

Agent 488 08-10-2006 05:00 PM

of course to some programs that help peddle similar crap adware is no worse than revshare ....

soon all of these companies will be crushed and driven underground by the gov.

Theo 08-10-2006 05:05 PM

i didnt even bother to report their activity cause i was 100% confident this would happen by the end of the year. Check back my posts about this.

Is this the program that skinned GFY and everyone went nuts? It was a huge ordeal. They paid out $0.XX per install, lots of sponsors were using them and many had claimed it was spyware while the sponsors protested that it wasn't.

I don't think they skinned any board.

Mr. Soul 08-11-2006 12:43 AM

Good to see the government going after fraud, instead of naughty pictures.

SmutGiant 08-11-2006 12:44 AM

Sly: I think you're thinking about GUBA.

Smokey: Which sponsors promoted moviepass? Can you post some links?

Is Franck back yet?
Loved the way he hit these guys head on-- Wonder what all these supporting sponsors have to say now?

Emphasis mine.

Good call Porn Kings and Epic Cash. Obviously you guys really care about where you send the traffic that affiliates send you. :thumbsup

Two more sponsors I'll never send traffic to.

I pretty much figured it was promoted primarily through exits and/or upsells... I just wanted to know which programs would willingly support something like this. I would think any reputable program would do at least a little research on a product or sponsor before they start promoting, especially if it was a new company or program such as moviepass.tv.

It was clear to EVERYBODY here on gfy they were scumware installing scumbags. Everybody but the sponsors who promoted them. I never seen so much bs in my life coming from those people. And ofcourse no reply from them in this thread. They just hope it dies quick.

Media from Pornkings and who else again?

Dirty F 08-11-2006 02:47 AM

Epicjim ofcourse was also defending them and denying they installed shit. Funny how only people sending traffic were denying it.
