What's wrong with a P.O. Box?

I don't understand why some sponsors don't accept a P.O. box as an address and refuse to send checks there? Can somebody explain this to me? If you have an affiliate that makes sales, who gives a shit where you send it?

brand0n 08-09-2006 03:39 PM

fraud.......

lol, sure they can :1orglaugh

I love those little yellow messages to visit the counter.

notabook 08-09-2006 03:52 PM

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh P.O. Boxes will always have that stigma of frauds and scammers. Blame the post office itself, or Jesus, because both are guilty in spreading propaganda.

bdld 08-09-2006 04:26 PM

tell them to hold on to your payment for a month until its clear it's not fraud, then have them mail it to the p o box.. shouldnt be a problem then.

Scootermuze 08-09-2006 04:30 PM

A p.o. box is all I have..
These small country towns are still existing in the past...

I have a street address, but it's just for 911 purposes..

But I've had no problems since 96.. {knock on wood}

abadfish 08-09-2006 04:31 PM

But they will accept a UPS Store address no problem. ;) I have PO Box but a box at a UPS store is much more flexible.

What sponsors have you come across that do not accept p.o. boxes?

footmonkey 08-09-2006 05:22 PM

The FBI won't knock on the door of a PO Box at 8am.

E$_manager 08-09-2006 05:54 PM

You live in Afganistan?

MaddCaz 08-09-2006 06:02 PM

yea P.O. box is SUSPECT

PornHero 08-09-2006 06:40 PM

just put the street address of the post office and instead of calling it a "P.O. Box #1809" or whatever just call it "Suite 1809" -- that should get around the problem...

i think the no P.O. Box rule is in case they ever need to come hunt u down for fraud or illegal shit on your pages... at least they have a starting point of where u r picking up your checks...:2 cents:

PornHero 08-09-2006 06:41 PM

i think traffic cash gold has the no P.O. Box rule...

they probably make an exception for known reliable webmasters...

minusonebit 08-09-2006 09:40 PM

Anyone that cant deal with me because I wont give them my home address wont be dealing with me. I value my privacy, and there is a way to find out the identity of a PO Box Holder if the need should arise. So if they cant deal with that, then fuck them.

tony286 08-09-2006 09:48 PM

what are you hiding?

pstation 08-09-2006 09:51 PM

sounds like whatever sponsor that was is simply ignorant that it only takes one simple form to obtain the info of the person renting that PO Box

BIGTYMER 08-09-2006 10:00 PM

Contact the sponsor and I'm sure they'll make an exception.
