Was a fan since Kill 'em All but the St Anger album sucked

aico 08-08-2006 05:10 PM

Do I miss it? no, because i listen to it all the fucking time, nothing gets my day started like Battery, except for maybe Shout at the Devil (close tie I guess).

Shitty music generally happens when the bands start to get responsible and sober up. Good for them, bad for their music.

Mr.Right - Banned For Life 08-08-2006 05:11 PM

They were great tracks.

Why should I miss these things? My MP3 player is still working. Also my 12 yr son plays em' on electric guitar in his room almost everyday (you can't even imagine how many times I was listening to Fade to Black's solo today :) )

Expo_Vids 08-08-2006 05:21 PM

Metallica went homo around 1990. I think Oprah is now more hardcore than Lars and James.

St. Anger has a horrible shitty sound. Yeah, I know it was some kind of "zest", but I can't understand why it's considered cool when the music sounds like it was recorded in the w.c. pan... :disgust

flashfire 08-08-2006 05:47 PM

why be an ex-fan? they still play their old music infact they are doing a tour right now where they play the entire master of puppets album

everyone says they went "soft" "homo" you dont change at all over 26 years? Maybe they have realized there is more to life than trying to be a teenager your whole life like most bands. Who is a "hardcore" band these days? I can guarantee you its an act

triumph 08-08-2006 05:54 PM

When I say ex, I mainly say it because Lars showed his true colors about being a greedy fucktard!!! And I became an ex fan.

I miss the old Metallica as a whole!

I still have not heard anything about his death. And we all know how the media is... This would have been a top story...

Wasn't it more like 1996-1997 that they all cut their hair and started wearing makeup? When Lars said something along the lines of "who the fuck are people [fans] to tell us what Metallica should do"

crockett 08-09-2006 08:09 AM

yep the old stuff was great.. pretty much from Justice for all til now has been crap IMO.

atom 08-09-2006 08:23 AM

St anger sucked. I'm excited about their new album though because Rick Rubin is producing it. Everything he touches turns to gold, I really hope he steers them back to their earlier sound.

One of the best concerts I have ever seen, they are great live I have seen them 5 times.

:)

CybermedAndy 08-09-2006 09:35 AM

Its been a sad sad downward spiral for that once great band

The riffs that got them on the map for Kill 'em all & Ride the lightning were Dave Mustaine's, not theirs.

They were backstabbing pussy-drama queens from day 1 :1orglaugh
