If a cop pulls you over and give you a ticket...

after the normal formalities and you sign the ticket, and he hands it to you can you say "fuck you" to him, or can he charge you with something or arrest you for saying it?

Adult Warden 08-07-2006 04:28 PM

Let us know what happens...Best way to find out is try it out yourself... :-D

This Relates To The States of FL, PA, And TN:

If there's nobody else around, you can say fuck you, and there's nothing he can really do. If there are other people around, he can get you for disorderly conduct.

Keep in mind though, that he may have other things in mind he could write you for, that he didn't in the initial ticket.

Also, when you go to court, it'll hurt your case, and many Judges will assess you higher court costs if they hear you were nasty with the cop.

(My partner's a certified cop in TN, PA, and FL, and this all came from him in response to your question).

He can arrest you.

Shaze 08-07-2006 04:32 PM

reason i'm asking is some cops are assholes...i just got pulled over by a cop for no reason at all and he ended up giving me tickets for alot of small shit...and he was being a real asshole.

i'm usually very polite to cops, especially if i know i really was at fault....i bit my tongue so hard but after he gave me the tickets i wanted to say "fuck off now" or something to that effect...

Na... they are OK guys just doing a job. It's easier, cheaper and saves court time by just paying them off - but never do that in the US :winkwink:

Vitasoy 08-07-2006 05:01 PM

That is asking for trouble..

Fucksakes 08-07-2006 05:08 PM

when they pulled me over and took my car away for unpaid tickets I freaked the fuck out, but everything I said was indirectly.. like no wonder everyone thinks cops are asshole, I said that I lost all respect for them, I told them not to talk to me, to talk to my girlfriend.. I was so angry that day that a few days in jail didnt matter, the one cop pushed me over as he reached into my car to see something, Im thinking in my head how I would love just to club him one..

I am alright now thou, the bulshit is done with, my fines are paid.. Ive learnt my lesson. still hate cops.

Mr Pheer 08-07-2006 05:14 PM

if you're stupid enough to do that then you deserve whatever the cops do to you afterwards.

Dont be a fuckin idiot (I know, thats impossible for most people) just say yes sir, no sir, and do not say anything else. Answer the cops questions politely, and dont volunteer any information. In other words, dont speak unless spoken to and keep it to a yes or no answer and be polite and dont lie. Your mission when pulled over is to get it taken care of quickly so the cops go and fuck with someone else. You be a rude asshole and they will fuck you with whatever they can and there isnt shit you can do about it.

RayVega 08-07-2006 05:16 PM

You did the right thing. If he can "articulate" that you broke a law...he could find something to charge you with. There are a lot of little tid-bits in the law cops can use.

You drove away with a fine and that's it, count your blessings and don't let your temper get the best of you. In the end you are not going to win against the police unless you know the law inside and out.

C_U_Next_Tuesday 08-07-2006 05:19 PM

Timing is everything. I reamed a detective out and told him numerous times to go fuck himself and that he was a fucking liar (this guy was trying to pin some serious shit on my child and lied in the police report). Told him if he came to my house or around my kids again I would kick his ass and take the jail time... he left me alone and did nothing..whew. I think my Dick by freaking out and trying to get me to shut the fuck up

You can never let go of that emotional constipation if you chose not to do anything about it in the first place... Give it a shot, and feel better next time. :winkwink:

thanks for the informative post...here where i live the cops always do traffic stops with a partner so they are never alone so i guess i couldn't have said "fuck off" or something like that. he did ticket me for three different things, the total ticket cost came out to $500 dollars and i got pulled over for no reason. he said i turned on my signal light after i made the turn but i had my signal light on way before the turn, i figured there was no use arguing with him because it was my word against his....i have a feeling he was having a bad day and just wanted to be a prick....especially because i have a pretty nice car...

Doctor Dre 08-07-2006 06:53 PM

Just tell him : Do you know why people dislike police officers ? I'm very nice to them all the time, but right now, you are giving me tickets for stupid useless stuff. If I would have speeded I could understand, but this just isn't right to take the money from a hard working citizen like that for bogus reasons.

J.R. 08-07-2006 06:54 PM

Sure, say whatever you want to say.

But, keep in mind.. they could have wrote you for 65 in a 55 when you
were actually going 73.. or they offficer left off the fact that you
had a fancy light effect on your car or that you windshield is cracked.

Use good judgement is my advice, I know firsthand. I was a cop in the 90's
:)

What is a 'certified' cop ?

Just wondering.. since I was a Calif. Police Officer as well as
Federal Police Officer after that and I have never heard that
term used by any of my cop buddies.

Certified Officer means you're not currently active duty, but hold state certification.

He's not living in TN or PA currently, but is still certified in both states (and was a cop in both at one time).

Ok, I figured that.. but I wanted to know more since its
a odd way of describing it.

Sounds good. :winkwink:

Worldnet 08-07-2006 07:03 PM

In Georgia the best thing to do would be to tell the cop you are going to fuck his daughter, and then kick his ass. Try that out!:thumbsup

Bro Media - BANNED FOR LIFE 08-07-2006 07:17 PM

you can legally say "i think you should go fuck yourself" its expression your opinion and freedom of speech, its legal and they can't do anything abou it, not sure if you just out right say "fuck you"

i've "expressed" my "opinion" to cops alot, and they couldn't do anything

SAM SIYC 08-07-2006 07:47 PM

"fuck you" could be interpreted as a threat so he could decide to fuck around and arrest you and make you waste 2hours at the police station.

but you could tell him that you think he's a total idiot, he stinks, he's a total loser.....as long as you don't threaten him.

that's for montreal laws....dunno about the states.

SAM SIYC 08-07-2006 07:52 PM

oh and I forgot.....if you're in costa rica.....he could do whatever the hell he wants with you.......so you just give him 20 bucks so he buys his kids nice presents and he'll leave you alone :upsidedow

gotta love central america!!!!!!

E$_manager 08-07-2006 08:39 PM

they have some kind of power and can arrest you charging insulting og the policeman.

Might be the way the trail court handles it, but it wouldnt withstand an appeal. Used to be a law like that in MI, it died when someone challenged it.

in our area, seldom of those cops give tickets...instead, they ask for bribe money...
