best thing to suggest is to contact Blizzard and let them know that that account was sold and then hijacked.. they probably won't do anything to help you (I don't think they officially agree with WoW accounts being sold) but at least maybe they can close it down so that no-one else gets scammed that way

and next time, change the login after you've purchased the account :2 cents: :winkwink:

I changed the login, even the other data on the account. But I guess there is a way to reset the password using the original account data and report it as stolen.

In wow, it's not hard to level the toons, but it's time consuming. I didn't want to spend any more time leveling, but more time having fun and pwing in battlegrounds. Well guess that's done with. :1orglaugh

SCORE Ralph 08-07-2006 12:15 PM

you got wow'ned

Pipecrew 08-07-2006 12:18 PM

I bought a totally epic'd out mage to go with my arsenal of now 4 epic characters. It was full netherwind, the only reason they are stealing them back now is cause of Naxx.

Anyways, the guy tried to steal it back and got it back. So I called his Mom and I explained to her (the kid is 15) that if I dont get the character back within a week, I am going to call the police in his area, sure enough I got the damn thing back in 3 days and the mom even made her son write an apology note.

To make a long story short, these kids dont think its a real transaction because its a game, even though WOW looks down on it, it is still THEFT..

If I sold you my car for 1000 dollars and 2 months later you steal it out of my driveway, you are going to JAIL.

I had two other people from the office have their accounts stolen back and I got them back as well.

Ahh.. didn't know that, haha, I played WoW for 18 months and never bothered to find stuff like that out. :warning

Good luck man, hope it works out for you!

Graham's mom just received an email to her business address. I am confident the matter will be resolved swiftly. :winkwink:

Cool,

Whatever you do, make sure you DO NOT Email blizzard and explain the situation, I know it sounds crazy, but once they hear the word purchased/transfered/ebay, your account is gone for life, no way in hell you will get it back and either will he.

Old news. There was a Gold shortage for a while, but no longer the case really.

yeah that's why I suggested it, figured even if he couldn't get it back at least he could stop someone else from using it or selling it again :winkwink:

but if he CAN get it back, as you say, he DEFINITELY shouldn't let them know about it

majorbitch 08-07-2006 12:42 PM

Damn and I just got started playing WoW yesterday. Seriously. =\

Going from GuildWars to WoW is kinda hard though.

Bro Media - BANNED FOR LIFE 08-07-2006 12:46 PM

yeah, is official you suck at life and need to shoot yourself

i wouldn't even pay $800 for a top of the line console and the top 10 games to go with it... let alone a gay character in a gay virtual reality gay online gay mmmfagoprh gay game

KrisKross 08-07-2006 12:48 PM

You need a reason why not to drop $800 on a WoW account?

$800 only? :1orglaugh I think I spent close to $3k in the past year on that game. Buying shit for it gives me more time to do actual, efficient, and productive work.

X37375787 08-07-2006 12:52 PM

BTW Pipe, when are you hitting up Cbus again? I've been wanting to have a drink with you for like 3 years now.

LOL it's actually a really really good game, there are a WEALTH of activities to pursue and characters to explore :thumbsup

Personally I think a lot of enjoyment comes from the lead up to level 60, but some people don't have time and want to get in where the action is.

X37375787 08-07-2006 12:55 PM

Don't get me wrong, I've had other 60s in the past, in tier1 and what not.

But wanting to go through the "pleasure" to raid for 50 days in-game for good gear is nothing I can/want to do anymore.

wargames 08-07-2006 01:20 PM

Wack i just bought a tier 2 shaman a couple of weeks ago :(

E Guru 08-07-2006 01:36 PM

I play DAoC BTW

I have prly spent about 5k buying gold over the last 2 years or so

Way better :)

notabook 08-07-2006 02:09 PM

After leveling a few chars to 60... the game totally lost interest to me. All there was left was to do guild run after guild run after guild run... god damn I would rather watch Oprah for four hours than hit up MC or BWL again. Then months after I quit I hear that in the expansion pack they are letting horde be paladins and alliance be shaman, awesome, game is as worthless to me now as it would be to a quadriplegic.

dooglas 08-07-2006 02:18 PM

I just got NCAA Football 07 for Xbox360 and I don't have time to play that. WoW is just too time consuming and expensive!

Beejeebers 08-07-2006 02:24 PM

Some folks spend $800 on dinner for 2. It's all relative... :)
