10,000-pic site for sale on eBay - public domain?
 

Here we have someone selling a site (which they claim it's a business) on eBay - www.dirtypixxx.com - they claim they give away free porn just for giving an email address - my bet is that the images are not licensed... so if you see any of your content being given away on the site you should contact eBay and your lawyer. $1500.00 is a lot of money for public domain pics, wouldn't you say?

the email I got from the lister:

"It was setup for giving out FREE Pics in exchange for their email address.
It could easily be changed to a TGP, which we thought about doing as well.

It just got the amount of traffic we needed to start charging for
advertising. This has been a process, if you are familiar with the adult industry you would know how hard it is to get to this point. We just do not have the time to keep with it.

The url is www.dirtypixxx.com as stated in the listing we will purchase and install an image program making it easy to add new images etc. or a tgp script if the owner wants to. We did this one completely by hand using photoshop and it equals over 10,000 html pages.

They are public and private. All images were available for FREE from various sites. Over the last year we have had every site imaginable checking the images and have not had a problem. We have invited many of them in the first place.

To have 10,000 fully licensed images would be about $5,000 and could not be given for free. This site can easily be changed into a TGP, or a full members site. We have spent alot of time and money building traffic first, we were in the process of deciding what to do with it now that it is established. We could easily turn it into a full fledge site with a members area, we have our own which we are just finishing up and a third party provider or a TGP site. Instead of dealing with it, we decided to sell it so we could concentrate on our adult auction and other client sites. Our
adult development company is www.webfxxx.com. Dirtypixxx.com is the onlysite that we have ever built that uses public domain images and that was due to the fact that we did not charge for them.

Earlier this year we had several advertisers that paid for banner space on our main site and our picture pages. When the contracts ended we decided to put this project aside. This site was mainly built to be a traffic generator, we have several sites that use our free pictures as a cobranded link on their sites, something that we wanted to roll out an entire program
with. In the access database the script is built to read which site the visitor was referred from, such as www.xxxmuffclub.com which is a site that is linked to us and brings in a lot of visitors.

We got the same templated answer. :1orglaugh And made a counter offer to their 1500. ;-) Neither of us can believe any serious webmaster sniffed around that site let alone several or odds are one would have found something wrong.

Methinks its more likely someone is making noise at them and they decided to dump it on some poor greenie on ebay and be free and clear from any civil actions. :winkwink:

At least the ebay description didn't promise thousands per month in income for little or no work like most do. :winkwink:
