I can remember seeing the first backflip done ever.. and not only did he do it off the first ramp and went and did it again on the 2nd. was crazy back than.

They said after he landed it tonight, that this was only the second time he's landed it. The first time, (that video shown) was a sand landing, so it wasn't a hard dirt landing for when he didn't make it.

jesus - how do they practice that? skiiers who do crazy shit practice off ramps into water/pools, gymnasts and circus performers doing new dangerous tricks practice over a ton of foam padding until they are confident they can pull it off - but what do these guys do?

I was watching that on TV at the local watering hole last night. That was pretty amazing. He had plenty of time as well. It wasn't even a close call.

They practice in a foam pit just like all the others. Just takes longer to get their bike out of the pit. They use a tiny crane to hoist the bike out just in case your wondering.

It was only four years ago when they pulled off the first backflip and back then it was considered insane. Now it's just another trick. A double backflip is hard to imagine and it blew my mind when I saw it last night. In a few years it will be just another trick.

Who knows what the future holds for anything that is progressive.
