My new Viral Project, what do you think guys?
I am starting today the promotion of my new brand viral site.
Basically wanted to make something more intresting than the milliondollarhomepage or those copycats that are all around. Also did not like the 500words.com website, because was too random, so i decided to start another idea i had in mind since last year so after a nice time coding we get to what i called www.project216.com Basically, i think that Colors have really big power. check these articles The Importance of Colors Colors in the Web Color and Brand Identity 1. Color increases brand recognition by up to 80 percent University of Loyola, Maryland study Color Increases Memory If a picture is worth a thousand words, a picture with natural colors may be worth a million, memory-wise. Psychologists have documented that "living color" does more than appeal to the senses. It also boosts memory for scenes in the natural world. Color Engages and Increases participation Ads in color are read up to 42% more often than the same ads in black and white (as shown in study on phone directory ads). Source: White, Jan V., Color for Impact, Strathmoor Press, April, 1997 Color Informs Color can improve readership by 40 percent 1, learning from 55 to 78 percent 2, and comprehension by 73 percent 3. So, why not to allow business to adopt one of the 216 web safe colors and brad it in our project? Please people of GYF, i need your opinions and how you think i can promote this new idea. Thans for the comments
here is the press release will be distributed tomorrow all around the newspress websites and some traditional press agencies Allows Businesses to hahaha8220;Adopthahaha8221; and Brand the 216 Web Palette Colors With a new spin on online advertising, Project 216 has launched www.Project216.com, a site allowing businesses or website owners to adopt and brand various unnamed colors of the 216 colors available in the Web palette. Olivos, Buenos Aires, Argentina hahaha8211; July 31, 2006 hahaha8211; Ithahaha8217;s no secret that both brand and color associations have a psychological effect on consumers, with two of the more popular examples being Coca Colahahaha8217;s red or the UPS brown. Now every business can take advantage of this through a new website at www.Project216.com, which allows businesses and website owners to hahaha8220;adopthahaha8221; and brand any of the unnamed 216 colors in the traditional Web palette. Any business can benefit from effective use of color, especially on the Web. Certain colors naturally bring about psychological responses in viewers, such as red being seen as an authority color and blue increasing trust (hence its common use in corporate websites). Color choices in Web design can play a role in everything from sales volume to repeat customers. Now businesses can brand and name their own colors from the Web palette that correspond with their company or site. Branding a Web palette color through www.Project216.com is a part of a new advertising method, wherein not only is a business buying space on the site when they hahaha8220;adopthahaha8221; a color, but theyhahaha8217;re buying the ability to have future Project216 activities promote their color by name with future clients, rather than just by hex value. The cost to adopt a color through Project216, and have its new commercial name used in future releases of the same website starts as low as $300. About www.Project216.com Project216.com is a new viral advertising site, where businesses and website owners can adopt colors from the 216 Web-safe color palette, and assign a commercial name related to their business. In addition to having the color branded on Project216hahaha8217;s home page, the commercial names will be used in future projects and releases by Project216, further spreading the branded name rather than the traditional hex value. The idea is to provide businesses an opportunity to take advantage of peoplehahaha8217;s psychological responses to color, coupled with effective branding. The site was launched July 2006 by Juan Pablo Sueiro. For more information, please visit www.Project216.com, or contact Juan Pablo Sueiro at +54911 6560 0060. |
Original Spins:
1- Business can associate their brands with colors, such as brown for UPS, Red for Coca, Blue for AMEX and so on 2- Purchasers will have the chance to rent their spots. 3- Project216.com its planning the developement of a software where color names assigned will be added 4- There are more than 8k USD hidden in the spots that are preserved certified by an Argentinian notary that will be given once all spots are taken. There is one big price of 4k, another of 2k and 2 spots with 1k |
The milliondollarpage only worked because of massive free media coverage aswell as massive online linking. Your site looks very well-made and your color-theme is a good twist. What you'd have to find is a market of entrepreneurs crazy about the effects of colours and go viral from there. This way, it could work. :thumbsup

and why would a surfer want to go there?
|
Basically I think its a brand new idea, giving names to colors is something that i think should be done.
Apart from this, color tematic its really intresting, i really studied a lot before launching the website. |
pixels are so last year
|
Again, this idea its not pixel related, the only poin in common is that purchasers will generate a kind of color patern in the main page
|
boring. Take no notice of university studies because usually they have no relationship to commonsense.

looks good, but I don't think it will work, either way good luck :thumbsup

I suggest you make a proposal to Crayola. Name a color after a product. Kids grow up with it and retain it for life.

Yes, i loved the idea about Crayola, but its difficult for me being not in USA. Maybe i need to find some good marketers to work on commision to help me reach some potencial sponsors.
|
to me, it looks like all the rest who copied the original. But if it works for you and brings you some cash, then who cares what ppl think :)

thanks cyberstar
|
Good luck with it

Apply Vme
To make things more interesting.... you should add an element from a technology I know about called Virtual Matrix Encryption. Basically, its the RNG part ... or random number generator .... you would have to increase the size of your matrix to atleast 256 squares or a 16 * 16 matrix. Then your image would not be static as you could random replace the values to form a dynamic color image where the purchased cells appear in different spots helping to form the ever changing image. Also, you could upsell a color dominance power to give it more strength during the randomization process. just a thought....
|
Thanks captain, but the fact is that 216 its not random chosen. 216 are the web palette colors unnamed.
|
are you from vietnam?
|
No, I am from Argentina
|
Thanks for the input ...... if you only have 216 unnamed colors/squares to work with and assign ..... then simply add 40 more boxes that are secret PRIZE boxes .... assign numbers to ALL 256 boxes ...... when someone purchases a color/square ..... 40 lucky people will get their square for free ..... this adds an element of excitement and chance to your viral marketing effort. Then the person that chooses the free square .... gets his color named .... and that color goes into TWO square box out of the 256...... giving that persons and 39 others 2 boxes with their color as opposed to one. ..... this is one way to get 256.
