OK... I just finished watching "Amityville Horror", The new one.....

And i have never been so fucking scared from a fucked up movie! I guess I am going to be on GFY all night because i am NOT going to sleep tonight. It being based on a true story even freaks me out more. My wife is scared as fuck. The light flickered while we watched it and it freaked us out even more already. I'd say the movie was VERY well done because i love horror movies like this but i havent been this scared since i was a kid watching freddy krueger for the first time. Great movie... scared the shit out of me! :party-smi

L0rdJuni0r 08-03-2006 01:55 AM

L0rdJuni0r 08-03-2006 06:13 AM

Here is the TRAILER by the way if u havent seen it. :thumbsup

I have not seen the new one...but the original is the only movie to date that scares the crap out of me. The scary thing is it is "based" on true events. I have seen hundreds among hundreds of horror flicks and this one is just scary as crap. About 10 years ago I actually saw the original house in long Island. It looks nothing like what you saw in the movie any longer.

From the way you describe how pretty scared you are, I would probably get a copy of it.

I used to do photo deliveries in that area for Kodak.

BlackCrayon 08-03-2006 08:25 AM

i don't know how it could be scary with the dude from 'van wilder' as the main character.

chase 08-03-2006 09:43 AM

I saw it and enjoyed it too. Another scary one I just saw is "the dark"...I was clinging to my exhusband like a scared little girl, lolol.

Amityville Horror is NOT based on a true story. The people who originally made the claims, many of them have since admitted it was all a hoax. (Duh, there's no such thing as such shit.)

The entire scam has been comletely debunked. Do a little research. It was a scam to try and make a quick buck by some financially desperate people.

Trying to say Amityville Horror is based on a true story is as bad as the idiots who still believe Texas Chainsaw Massacre was based on a true story.

I'll admit the original got me going... a little. But I was a kid back then. The movie "When a stranger calls" (Original) scared me worse than Amittyville did.

The new version of Amittyville was well done as far as remakes go, but very VERY few so-called horror movies actually scare me anymore. As an adult I can recognize them as entertainment, loaded with special f/x.

I found Dawn of the Dead more entertaining than scary.

You cant say there is no such shit for sure. You can not be sure there is no such thing are spirits, ghosts, etc. I know in my time i have seen some pretty crazy shit that i couldn't explain so i believe in ghosts and all that because i have witnessed some creepy shit. Big Foot and shit like that is more likely to be fake then spirits and ghosts... and no i do not believe in big foot but i do believe that there are creatures here on earth that we have not discovered yet.

RealityWife 08-03-2006 01:15 PM

I dont think this movie is scary at all. I really dont even consider it a horror movie. I was actually quite bored. Most moives that hollywood calls horror movies are just not scary or even have real horror for that matter. Im a big Ryan Renolds fan as well, but he sure has made some terrible movies lately including Amityville Horror and Blade 3. He is much better at comedy's like three guys a girl and a pizza place.

madawgz 08-03-2006 01:18 PM

yeah it was a pretty good movie, i bought myself the dvd :thumbsup

xxxice 08-03-2006 02:44 PM

It's crazy how he can never get warm and keeps building fires :)

reynold 08-03-2006 08:16 PM

I only saw the old one. That scene where an evil rat racked the kid's bed gives me the creeps.. :)

RF_Erick 08-03-2006 08:17 PM

It was entertaining.

There is no such shit.

Were you crushed when you read that Amityville Horror was a hoax, and one of the main perpetrators of that hoax has publicly admitted it was 100% made up bullshit? LMAO

notabook 08-03-2006 08:49 PM

The only reason the original AVH did well is it was portrayed as based on true events... it was basically just like the Blaire With Project, neither that bad a movie ?if based on true events?, but both sucking donkey balls after you found out it was faker than Michael Jackson's nose. The new AVH? lmao, the fucking guy from van wilder and waiting is the main star. Every time he tries to be scary you keep thinking of him fucking with someone?s food or helping to masturbate a dog so they can prank on people? it just didn?t work. If they had got another main actor it would have been watchable as a rent, but still not as a buy.

LittleSassy 08-03-2006 09:22 PM

It was kinda scarey....but not like the first one. I font know, I just dont feel the guy there cause I usually see him on comedy films...

Grapesoda 08-03-2006 09:32 PM

they admited that they made it all up . .
