I sue Apple

It's now decided.

For some reasons I fell asleep with my MacBook pro on my thighs few weeks ago and got a bit burn.

This fucking laptop is way to hot when connected on A/C power and it's not wrotten ANYWHERE that the laptop could reach such an high temp (almost 70°c)!

I got almost every 98% of every Apple laptop ever made, but now I'm pissed and sue them. It's almost impossible to hold it when it's connected with the powercord.

How much should I ask?:firehair

It's true, they are to fucking hot...
But you should put your blame on Intel for not getting the power consumtion and the heat down in their chips.

Burning iBook Warns of Laptop Fire Hazards
by Jeff Gamet, 7:30 AM EDT, May 30th, 2006
A Minneapolis TV station is warning laptop owners to be cautious with their portable computers or risk a fire. The report drives its point home with photos of a burning iBook. WCCO's footage of a burning iBook is dramatic, and acts as a reminder that you may get burned if you don't pay attention to basic safety precautions, like don't place your laptop on flammable materials.
In the case of the burning iBook, an 11 year old boy was using his laptop while it was sitting on a carpeted floor. Later, he left the the iBook unattended on the floor while he left the room. His parents heard a popping noise, and came into the room to find that the iBook was melting the carpet. They moved the laptop outside, with the power supply still attached, and photographed the computer catching on fire.

I agree but does a temperature of more than 300°F is common for a laptop? I don't think so.

What if you're disabled, are you just goig to say it's common sense not to use a laptop on it? 300°F is enought to cause dammage with various liquids, matches.

There are two problems with your law suit;

(1) The mac book pro doesn't get any hotter then a similar unit from dell. One of them hardware forums did a comparison and the difference was with-in 1 degree.
(2) The instruction book does say not to use the computer on your lap. Computers aren't really meant to be used ON you. That said, I use my mbp on my lap all the time, but I put a towel or banket or something between it and me.

swedguy 08-02-2006 12:54 PM

After I updated to the latest firmware, mine got a lot cooler.

1 Never had never will get a Dell; I'm afraid I can't compare

2 You're supposed to use a computer, and a laptop especially everywhere
When it 100's in summer I don't put blanket on me :winkwink:

Axzar 08-02-2006 01:31 PM

I have a powerbook g4 and cant hold it on my thighs for too long for the same reason... They probably have a warning somewhere that you should always use the computer sitting on top of a desk or something... if it wouldve heated so much to actually set a fire, then you'd have a case... How bad is the burn?
