My site got picked up by SE's in less than 24 hours from launch
 

fucking crazy, I started linking and pushing my new site yesterday afternoon, and I woke up today and checked and I already have my stats showing results from both google and yahoo

now THAT is some kickass shit right there :)

any tips for newbies? :thumbsup

yea, that happens to me all the time. I was thinking it had something to do w/ the fact I use the google toolbar

haha, not really actually, this is the fastest it has ever happened for me...usually I can get into the engines within a day or two, but this time I actually have people coming to my site from the engines, meaning my site is already picked up for certain keywords, that almost always takes me a week or so

no old sites here...this domain was registered 4 days ago and launched yesterday

it reports sites you visit back to google, so when they see a new one they add it.

just checked my "robots" stats, this is just for today..the site was not even online yesterday morning, now I have googlebot coming 19 times today alone...LOL..I am loving it

SE's probably caught on so quick due to the nice domain name and lots of relevent text...

I would be more willing to bet that you may have been indexed, and you are getting spider hits, but I would be really surprised if you are ranking for keywords just yet.

Did you do it on purpose or do you not know what you did?

I have two results in my stats that show otherwise, they aren't high rankings or anything, but people found my site by searching for these two terms

More luck than skill if you didn't start promoting it until 31st. I guess it is good proof that Google does indeed use its ninja registrar skills to come checkout new sites the same day they are registered. :thumbsup

hmm....so, the more I think about it, it was that wordpress forum posting that did it.....it was before I officially started promoting the site, but that post helped me before I even launched

cool shit still though to launch a site and have people find it by searching on google withing 24 hours of the "official" launch haha

You are missing the point and maybe Jace is too. Getting a link from a big site to get you crawled and/or indexed quickly isn't a secret.

The point is Google came by 3 days BEFORE he posted at WP.org, the SAME day he registered the domain and uploaded the site and 3 days BEFORE he did any promotion. :)

Being picked up by the SEs isnt necessarily being ranked high by the SEs. How are the keywords doing so far on the serps?

Just to update everyone, I did find out what I did and how I did it, but unfortunately I will have to keep it a secret ;)

I tried it a second time and it worked like a charm

for those asking about keywords and rankings, I now I have 27 pages indexed, all for specific porn star names and I am getting clicks through from google for those porn star names consistantly now

everything I did was basic SE shit and when I used to do it individually it barely did anything, but I somehow figured out a pattern that works perfectly and gets me picked up, and all pages on my site indexed in less than 24 hours...woo!
