When was your last real "vacation?"
 

I was thinking about it, and I don't think I have had a real vacation since 1993. Sure, I have taken out of town trips, but there is always a business reason behind it.

I am really looking forward to Friday, and while I will have my laptop and cell phones with me, they will be for emergencies only.

So, how about you? When was the last time you really took some time off for you?

I haven't had a real "vacation" since early 1999.... that is, like a week or more just traveling for pleasure or hanging out doing nothing. Nutty isn't it?:Oh crap


(although to be fair, in Miami, any weekend on the water is like a mini vacation)

My last one was last month, and the one before that was the month before that.

My last vacation ended June 8th, started March 7th. Next one coming up is in September :)

July 16th to july 24th this year when I was on my honeymoon.. before that.. .in 2001.

I can't remember the last time I had more than a day away that didn't have something to do with work.

1992. Jamaica. It sucked.

My honeymoon was 2 weeks ago... There was the daily email maintanance, but other than that, I had a real break.

Hmmm... about 11 yrs ago when I was in Greece. But I think I'll go to Thailand over Xmas this year. =)

My last vacation was this month last year (Guam and Hawaii).

Punta Cana ( DR ) April /06 it was fucking awesome ....

They are selling prime beach lots under 45K usd ... maybe I should buy one ...

It was four months ago, and I was with my family. It wasn't really a solo vacation but I enjoyed it so much.

Haven't had one yet. Every trip I take is full of events. My idea of a vacation is a week in Bora Bora and Tahiti with no cell phone and nobody with me. Just spend a week relaxing on the pristine beach without a care in the world.

Real vacation, as in doing nothing except relaxing?
Can't even remember - there have always been at least some business reasons behind anything that could be called a vacation...

Just got back from Maui :) In the past year I've been to Vegas a few times, DC, Seattle, Alaska, Destin and Panama City. I love vacations :)

Vacation? What the hell is that? LOL
Last vacation hubby and I had was three years ago. We went on a 4 day cruise to Mexico. Other than that, can't say we have had one since. Everything is always work related. Even when I took hubby to New Zealand and Australia he worked almost every day. :(
Oh the joys of being self employed. hehehe
Thats why I enjoy going to shows because at least we get away for a few days. :)

I can't remember the last time I took a vacation. Every time I go any place business some business is done. I have family in SOCAL, and every time I'm down there I end up meeting with industry folks.

YP Mexico comes close to a vacation, but it's still business no matter how drunk I get.

i think early 90s as well.. fuck.. my life is one big vacation now so no need
to schedule time for that!

I feel gluttonous after reading how little vacation time most are taking.

I just went on a 15 day kayak trip in June, and in a month I am going on a 28 day cruise from Alaska across the Bering Sea to Russia and then several stops in China, Japan, S. Korea, Taiwan and ending in Osaka. I then am planning on backpacking for about 3 more months in southern China, Burma and India.
