Who's using what browsers ??
 

I had a client today tell me that they are using OPERA, and it got me wondering just how many people are using something other than Internet Explorer these days ???

The demographics I had say that since IE5.5 ... over 90% of surfers are now using IE ... maybe 6% using Netscape .. and 4% using other alternatives ...

What is your browser of choice ??

BTW ... for the sake of this poll ... Yes AOL is Internet Explorer :winkwink:

Mozilla uses the same engine as the newest Netscape: Gecko. Mozilla is open source though.

opera and IE6 here, but mostly opera last few weeks

i use opera for surfing and IE for its cookies and checking stats

IE is the majority by far.

Does Opera not use cookies?

Im using IE 6.0 and Netscape 7.0 They both are good.. IE being much better than Netscape.. but the new netscape is much better than the older ones..

This survey shows what surfers use.

Webmasters tent to use both IE and Netscape but only for testing their designs.

Opera is getting bigger but still only represents a tiny minority.

i develop my sites on Netscape 3.7.
if i forget one tag in my html i WILL know ..
If it works on that fucker it works on everything ..

Though my knowledge of use within a Unix/Linux environment is limited {something I'm workin on, though}, from the exposure I've had to Mozilla, it looks to me that it would use the same kernel as Netscape...but then, looks CAN be very deceiving!

opera usues cookies but for some reason they dont last as long as IE. After about a few hours most password sites will ask u to enter them again

IE 6 and opera. Got some friends at opera software :winkwink:

mozilla here. it would be wise for more webmasters to at least have mozilla handy to test their sites, because it's going to become more popular.

my surfers 88% use IE
3% mac
the rest nertscape (very few linux)

Interesting survey... especially considering 3.1% of the surfers use Netscape 5 which doesn't exist.

i just voted and i saw that 80 something percent voted for internet explorer... well microsfot has always been dominant... i think that is why we are all using IE
