SEO gurus I have a simple question for you
Repeated words on a website...good or bad for SEO?
If I have word "widgets" repeated 100 times on my site. How does SE's see this? Will they ignore the site or rank me higher? How does this work from your experience? And how many time should you repeat an word so you don't piss of the SE's ?? |

Its relative to the overall number of words on the page and emphasis. If you have a 2000 words on the page and one of the words repeated 100 times, that's only about 5% of the document. Similiarly, using emphasis markers like h1, bold, italics around the words help but again, in moderation. Making the entire page bolded or in h1 will negate the entire purpose. The idea is to make certain words stick out among the rest of the document.

Are you talking 100 times over a 50 page site, or 100 times on a 1 page site?
|
I remember a site that a girl did just that - counted the keywords that a site was number one on Google for and how many times the keyword was repeted on that page, so I'm guessing your best bet is to Google "widgets" and examine the first 10 or so sites

Just one more thing... Is there any difference in these keywords for SE's free sex, free cars, free gfy, free WG OR free sex cars gfy WG |
worry more about building traffic and tweak SEO later - my 2 cents

I've seen sites on Google with top possitions for keywords that don't even appear on the page in question.
The moral here is to think links, links, links when it comes to Google SEO :winkwink: |

Then you are probably keyword stuffing, or keyword spamming. You figure it out. |

If you're referring to meta tags, than the former is better. WG |
here is a tip from me ;)
If your trying to crack google or yahoo, i have found in mainstream at least, that making sure the first thing a spider hits on your page is a H1 tag with your main keyphrase, usually being your site title! Another good tip ;) will cost ya :D |

the same word 100 times in a row will be seen as search spam and get the page delisted.

You can download the IBP trial version for free and check your keyword density on that keyword. The density value you should be shooting for is up to your research and personal experience, if you have too high a density you will be seen by google as over-seoing and penalized to some degree by a filter. :2 cents:
