Any Takeshi Kitano fans here? (Brother, Sonatine, Hana-Bi)
 

If so, do you know of any similar flicks? (mainly gansta movies with a meaning - not just dumb shootigs and gore).

My flatmate is obsessed with him. I will ask him tonight as he has been 'educating' me.

The guy is awesome. His stuff is so much better than the usual hollywood crap.

and i have to second Violent Cop - that flick rocks!

I will second this, these two flicks are great.

Beat Takeshi is cool, a lot of japanese girls dont like him for some reason though hehe. I've seen a buncha movies with him, but never know the names of them hehe sorry.

i got Hana Bi on VHS - but it's a little depressing for my taste

Takeshis Castle was much funnier...

I am assure somebody actually won it once.

Kitano's films are fucking awesome.
You gotta love him for the tap dancing musicial number at the end of Zatoichi if nothing else.

Samurai + tap dancing = Genius
